Yes, another murky start here. A sea roke perhaps ??
Took until the afternoon for the sun to make it through again. Pleasant  22 C as I type.
Seems yonks since we had thunder & lightening here. I'm not under the warning areas.

And now I notice the East coast is included under a Yellow warning for heavy rain
and thunderstorms on Saturday.

Rain widely across the region at the moment, with a very nasty band of it near South Yorkshire, no lightning strikes reported yet - but it is very early so unlikely.

Yet another hot sunny day here in Hudds., best end of spring / start of summer I can remember, and certainly since I moved to West Yorkshire in June 1994. Have probably spent more time sat out in the back garden in the last 6 weeks than over the last 10 years combined !

Bit bloody breezy out there!

The Flood relief works mean that we have a near Saharan dust storm out back as well.

Keep safe folks.

Not much to report from Rotherham, highest gust I've recorded was only 19mph.

It's breezy when your out in it though...

And so this largely excellent summer continues, and it looks like next week is going to be proper hot summer weather. And apart from the odd shower / drizzly hour or two (and one very brief downpour) the lack of any meaningful rain goes on, at least here in Hudds. anyway. And with no rainfall on the horizon, even into FI, this has the makings of a notable dry spell.

More cloud than forecast this morning, so with the breeze it's not actually feeling particularly warm. At least not yet anyway............

20c is warmer than average for Sheffield in June. No 'only' about it.

Anyway, lots of high cloud today but not enough to block out the sun so it was a perfectly pleasant day.

Been pleasant enough yes, but i was meaning against the forecast for this weekend its been a little worse than expected. Was supposed to be 24c today but not made it. Anyway, plenty of nice weather to come this week and should be feeling hot too :)

Yes, same here, my reference to 'just' 19c was in comparison to forecast.

I think we were spoilt by the glorious warm and sunny weather in May/early June. We ate our evening meal outside every night for two weeks and had peak temps of 29c. So lovely to be able to spend so much time outdoors with the family. The last two weeks have been pleasant but much cooler and often breezier by teatime.

We hit at a max of 29.2c at 4:30pm, fantastic day!

Spent hours in garden with kids today, actually got too hot in the end and had to escape back indoors. Thankfully Victorians knew how to build houses, it was a full 10c cooler indoors than out, like having free air con

We managed a max of 26.2c today, significantly cooler than Sunday when we saw 29.2c. Quite a strong breeze picked up here now and temp dropped to 22c. Not quite the hottest day as forecast but to be honest it was a much more comfortable heat and pleasant for working outdoors.

temp plunged to 18.5c now, family have all retired indoors as feels quite cool in the breeze after being in 26c+ temps just 2 hours earlier. Still fantastic weather though compared to last few years.
