yes its practicaly running off the trees and surfaces. Surprising how quick snow melts when its just above freezing, youd think it would be very gradual but its super quick at the moment. I guess other things come into play as well as air temp...

Morning all what a nice sight I woke up to this morning the last hurrah before a quick thaw it’s definitely been a better winter in terms of cold and snow in stead of cold and rain. Been snowing at my location since around 4/5am. Still snowing and got roughly 3-4” as it stands judging by where the farmer has ploughed I’m roughly 2/220m above sea level. So as predicted the spine of our region and elevation most at risk with a couple of CMs at lower levels with the intensity.

Turned to to rain. Still, pretty impressive for April and we’ll see how long the cover lasts.

2017/18 turned out pretty well for snow here in the end.

Freezing rain on top according to TM. Very nasty if it is. Not freezing here just steady melt.

Remember the ground is warm so attack from below.

We are away at Pickering North York’s where snow was forecast. Non stop rain overnight but no snow. Back home roads are covered. (Huddersfield) daughter has rung to let us know Ainley Top is closed at the moment due to snow.  We have seen falling snow Sat and Sun though, high up on the moors road as we travelled over to Whitby. Enjoy the snow everyone.

Must be very elevation dependent as here on the eastern outskirts of Leeds there is no snow whatsoever.

Here's a funny video from someone in the U.S. who doesn't like the snow. Wish it could be like that here.

Same here Reef: everything is saturated and there is a risk of flooding in the pump-drained Hull Valley I fear looking at the amount of surface water there is. Needs to ease off otherwise there will be problems.

Well the last event brought 31.8mm of rain which funnily enough is about the same as the last two major marginal snow events.

And also beating last April in terms of rainfall by a wide margin (and it's only the 3rd April).
