Havent had as much as a flurry since 8am this morning. The 0.5cm pitiful cover is nearly gone in the sun. The temperature is just about holding in there for an ice day, the max so far is -0.4C.

The North sea looks as barren as ever for us, so that could be it.

If you're in Leeds I wouldn't expect much after this current band of snow. Looks quiet for an hour or two.

Some heavy showers hitting places in the East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire & West Yorkshire as it moves across the our region East to West on the Easterly winds.

Got about 10-12 cm here so im happy with that

Although the wind on the radar looks to be steering NE to me, bringing the showers from up north further south for a time id suspect as a result of the 'kink'.

Once this set of showers has passed by there looks to be a couple of hours of dry clear weather before those showers in the North sea blow inland. What's after these.... who knows!

Tomorrow will be treacherous on the roads where snow has compacted and partially melted.

The North Sea looks like it’s pepping up to me off our east coast?? Where do you get it looks barren Reef?? I don’t expect the potential for heavy showers for our region to calm a little until mid to late morning tomorrow when the Storm Emma starts to enter onto our shores and starts squeezing the isobars as it moves up...

Weather station reading -4.1, impressive for 3pm on the last day of February

After a pause heavy snow showers have resumed with drifting snow. Not Blizzard standard as the winds are too light.

Approx 5cm of snow but since it's drifting it's hard to get an accurate measure.

Looks promising to me for another round of showers pretty much across Yorkshire - apart from a small gap around Hedon. A bit of a wait now though.

One thing I've noted happening this P.M. are the shower cores beefing up as they ride up the Pennines unlike yesterday when they fizzled on hitting the hills??

I've been watching nice patches of pink on the NetW radar suddenly grow dark pink cores as they reach Leeds and then more extensive by Bradford. By the time they get here they have a 5 min whiteout core ( with associated winds increasing).

With all in the north Sea beyond Hull yet to come ashore I'm wondering whether we'll end up under an Orange if we are seeing orographic intensification of any show hitting the hills

We've had a few surprise heavy showers, albeit short-lived.

Yes indeed GW, a much more snowy day here because of that, right now having one of the most intense showers so far. Perhaps down to the change in wind direction to a more direct easterly ?

Cloudy with a chance of snowballs!  :D

Radar is looking quite good actually.  A few showers even look to be making a beeline for Hedon?!:yahoo:
