After last years epic fail, I am not telling any of my family and friends that it might snow next week. I for one don't want egg on face again !!!

Fingers crossed we get some action this time

Snow settled on cars roofs and a slushy slight coating on the grass in Shirecliffe, Sheffield. Still snow but very wet and I’m sure it’s proper sleet and rain down the hill and especially in the city centre.

Later next week looks particularly exciting. East and NEly winds that go on and on...god knows what it’ll look like in Yorkshire by mid feb (deep distrusting snow )....but careful there is  still a chance that Yorkshire will be lush and green!  ECM not just as good tonight...a slight wobble up to 192hrs so far.

Can I get excited yet? As horrid as it'll be now i'm not 11, I still remember the joy of opening the curtains on that day back in Feb 1991 to this:

Well that was interesting!  Happened to be out between 5-7 and had quite heavy wet snow for most of the time.  Grass is white and pavements are slushy.  An unexpectedly good start to this cold spell.  Really looking forward to next week and hoping to be able to put the 4x4 capability of my Volvo XC60 to the test when I go to my parents in Chesterfield on Tuesday!

Most of the time the model threads seem like an alien language to me but can't help but get caught up in their excitement tonight.  Really hope we do have something special coming.

I haven't been across I suspect it's in disarray as the ECM has downgraded somewhat from last 12oz.

Coming down nicely here, fairly big flakes and settling on cars and roads

It sure is!

Toys all over the place, so if you do go in, mind your step

I expect we should know this time tomorrow given the time frames?

Yes you seem right.  The mood has dropped.  Although that seems to be the nature of the model thread. Rollacoaster.

Nope remember this Friday was only determined 48hrs out.

Even when the ECM was a classic there were one or two in there sniping trying to get an argument and cause trouble.

Coming down nicely right now. Temp 0.8C falling slowly. Blimey I might have a depth to measure tomorrow.
