The ECM and GFS both diminish the snowfall risk for Friday into Saturday.

A mixed bag of rain sleet and snow, accumulations reserved for inland areas around 150-200m+ but even then the lack of intensity will likely hamper any covering, if the PPN was heavy it would be game on but for now its too fragmented.

Yeah just been checking the met office website for local forecast and its a little underwhelming so far. Not much in the way of snow showing up.

Of course its nice to finally be in a long cold spell and things always pop up so I'm still hopeful . Tuesday could still be interesting ?️

Certainly looking interesting for next week now for the last couple of weeks the 22nd and 23rd charts seem to want a big snow event let’s hope it comes in.

Lampost watch from around 4am in North Yorkshire if your up

Then you might as well stay up for the 00z :drunk-emoji::drunk-emoji:❄️

Radar is showing snow showers in the north East at present.

They should reach North Yorkshire around 4am.

ECM is going for 1-2cm quite widely so I wouldn't rule out a covering down to low levels.

In the pennines its about 2-3 inches max but thats over the course of 24 hours around 300m+

Certainly feels like winter out a nice minus 4 windchill and a snow shower earlier. Hopefully just the start after the awful first half of winter!

Nothing in Hull! And to be honest ain't expecting anything from any of this. We didn't get anything last year from a lot worse conditions so I ain't holding my breath this time around.

Few iced over flakes on the cars this morning.

Feeling bitter out there, finally a step in the right direction for a more seasonal feel!

Hopefully lots of snow over the coming weeks to get this thread buzzing

Did snow over night I had it on my car this morning. This year will be different as the setup is different it looks like it may have more of a NE slant later in the run which is always better for East Yorks.

Met Office web site is listing its going to snow here tomorrow from 2pm till midnight. Its about the only website I trust for snow predictions. Not going to amount to more than a few cm's but still great to see it falling.

Also next Tuesday is a big watch, ECM and GFS keep flagging up potential for a significant snow storm, which would be nice.

Weather Warning out now for the East Coast -

Snow & ice

between Thu 10:00 and Fri 10:00

Occasional showers of sleet and snow will affect some eastern parts of England during Thursday, leading to a temporary covering of 1-3 cm of snow in places. Showers will become restricted to immediate coastal districts by evening, before dying out. Icy patches will then form on untreated surfaces.
