I'm going to Thailand on Tuesday for 12 days... I look to have timed it perfectly to miss out on all the fun!

That said, if I had to miss snow, I'm glad it's for this reason!

Enjoy it everyone if and when it arrives, I'll be expecting pics on here please! ? ❄

Well a windy day after a windy night. Gusts overnight 53mph and today so far 55mph but not surprised there isn't a warning out.

The wind is very strong today, very gusty and squally! Worst ive seen it here for a good while. I agree there should be a warning out, I bet passengers trying to land a Leeds Bradford will agree with me this afternoon lol

I am already sick of the model output thread and its southern bias, i cant tell now whether its still all good for us or whether its not as good down south with all the moaning that goes on in there.

If you get stuck up there it could be more than one night. Been caught out there before.

I'd go Otley, anywhere on Otley Chevin as its about 280m asl and your not far from Leeds so you won't end up stuck somewhere and you can always go down into the Valley where Otley town is and experience the snow in a village like town. Better than been stuck on a 500m hill in the middle of nowhere where the view is just white hills that merge into one lol.

Funnily enough I'm also going back up north to stay with family this week to hopefully see snow on Thursday, the current synoptics don't look good for those of us in the south

Does anyone think Thursday into Friday will deliver?

I don't have access to the ECM PPN charts atm, the GFS is interesting for high ground central areas, the ECM suggests the low not even sliding into Yorkshire out much further west. Maybe something in the middle

Ukmo and met office suggest the front will not reach us on Friday.

Gfs12z however is all snow.

Latest ICON shows potentially snowy Saturday morning. However too far away to be taken as a given.

Thur early morning looks like a good time to be up on the Yorkshire Wolds and North York Moors for a bit of snow potential. I will be heading over Sutton Bank for work that morning so hoping for a Wintry scene

Interesting Mr Shockey.

I have been keeping an eye on tomorrow night, whilst the flow stays mainly west of North we could see some disturbances down the east coast and with sub -8c uppers this would be wintry down to low levels.

Quite a shame the flow isn't a bit more NE as this would really drive the showers inland.

Met Office now have light snow showers here for Thursday daytime and some heavy symbols now showing for parts of the North York Moors.

Will be going up to Thixendale / Kirby Underdale on Thur for a look now . This should be the beginning of a notable cold spell for snow starved East Yorkies
