Just rain in city center, walkable but the wind chill is extreme.

Had my lights flicker and UPS switch back and fourth to battery a few times in LS15... It's raining but doesn't appear to be freezing rain.

I'm in LS15 and it's definitely freezing rain. Paths and roads are clear though.

Ooh, will check here.. might be selective freezing rain, not freezing on everything yet.

Says Snow on the Radar but it’s still just freezing rain.. I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed this type of weather before.

Radar is only a indication. It's not unknown for it to say Snow when it raining and sometimes although less often the other way round.

Looks like we've gotten away lightly as the rain wasn't intense as expected. A fail as far as Snow goes and the met got the freezing rain right just but not as widespread as forecast. Also I wouldn't call it a storm here.

Our Met Office didn’t name it as a storm. Either way, it’s causing significant disruption in places and I think the Met were spot on given a challenging forecasting situation. Conditions will never be exactly the same throughout a warning area.

I thought any low pressure giving an Amber warning made it a named storm? I may be out of date with that definition though!

I take all the folk suffering the 'flicker' in the 'leccy earlier had another flicker a couple of mins back?

Looking at the size of area reporting it it had to be transmission issues and not local transformer problems?

Not even snowing on top judging by the cat and fiddle web cam. Misty as well. So a massive fail there by the met office in regards to Snow. Rain gauge has discovered it's raining lol. Plenty more light rain to come by the looks of the radar with one or two isolated heavier bursts. The met office local forecast has finally caught on two hours too late that it's actually raining here.

Nothing to report in Rotherham in the end. Ahh well.

Met had to issue warning as it really was nowcast and seems some places have seen it but pretty localised in the end for freezing rain. Could have been worse.

Just on bins, cars etc. Ground temperature might be too high for roads to freeze.

I haven't a clue what levels are needed for warnings let alone storm naming. However it's windy in places and some places have a plenty of freezing with the rain. So I would say it's a correct call.

Will look at tomorrows heavy showers as the GFS had some cold uppers in relation to them which would be more likely to produce snow than these uppers today.

Just a shame there's a warm layer up there somewhere!

Radar looks pretty good and its only 0.1c here so under normal circumstances it would be a great blizzard

please will someone explain to me where n how this inversion is causing the rain. its so frustrating with sub zero temps. as someone said this wud hav been a great blizzard. why is this same zone not affecting scotland where there uppers were warmer!!

still think meto got this wrong with symbols n wording. blizzards was mentioned this morning and just on high ground. mainly doesnt mean totally!! but theres no snow up there anyway! last nite bbc were saying 5cm most of yorks! 20cm scotland. never admit thete mistakes!!
