Well still dry so the latest radar echo is evaporating before it gets down here. The front very weak so that's a good sign if it's going to be freezing rain.

The bit we have now is not really the front, it's a radar echo.

-1c here now. We are ****ed. I hate Freezing rain, rain/snow mix is falling now but is light enough to not be of an issue once that first band hits then it's going to be a nightmare to deal with the animals.

Few flakes at Crystal Peaks SE Sheffield earlier and also on M18 near Bramley.

Back home oop North now and it's currently 1c with a few of -2c.

Wind chill at a Baltic -5c, expecting some very brief snow turning to freezing rain later.

Tempted to head to the North York Moors later where 6 hours of snow is forecast but with freezing rain about it could be treacherous on the roads.

A lot of places west of the Pennines are just reporting rain rather than freezing rain.

Light drizzle here temperature 0.1C

They're probably reporting train as the temperatures are a bit higher. We may get away with it although it won't have any snow in it.

Good, give me rain over freezing rain any day. Snow yes, freezing rain no - just extremely unpleasant, and downright dangerous if you are unfortunate enough to have to travel in it. Not bothered about 'seeing interesting weather' - watching my roof tiles getting blown off a few years ago was a good example of 'interesting weather' that's absolutely no use nor ornament to anyone.

I thought they mentioned freezing rain in text.

The symbols are just automated.

Local BBC Radio warning of heavy snow around 2pm here.

As dark approches expect temperatures to drop

Within 1 hour from now most of Yorkshire will see some form of precipitation rain sleet snow

Black ice.

The wind up here is evil it feels colder than the beast from the East in February

The Freezing rain is so far only North of Skipton. Hope it stays that way as it can't do a lot of damage up there.
