Not a single mention of the wintry stuff (mixture of rain sleet and very wet snow) that fell early this morning about 6am, my car was coated in ice.

Was strange this morning  when i came to my car this morning the temp was showing at 0c yet everything was absolutely soaked yet i woke up around 2am and it looked like there had been a  slight dusting/covered in frost but it was hard to tell.

Few weather stations in the Yorkshire Wolds already reading below freezing.

Are we sure there is no front edge snow, it feels mighty cold. Not had this windchill since Feb.

Well 8 years ago to the day now since I saw my best ever snowfall in Sheffield!

What happy days they were in Dec 10 ?️

Charts looking better again this morning... hope we see something wintry in the run up to Christmas

Such a sudden fierce squall at 8.30 am it actually made me and the whippet jump !
Like a fireman's hose on the windows and very strong gusts.
Horrid weather of late IMO.

Looks like the prospects for Snow from fronts pushing in from the west has gone tits up. May get some sleet in the early hours of Friday but I expect a good risk of light freezing rain for people to wake up to. Yuk. Saturday is looking an odd day temperatures wise temps 0C to 2C at 06:00 these rising to a balmy 12C to 13C between 21:00hrs to Midnight before dropping again

Looks like those in West/North Yorkshire on high ground could see a period of snow, potentially heavy, maybe a few cm's before it turns to rain.

Can you put your location in your profile then we will know where is.

Just sleet here briefly then rain. However if the GFS is right the cold uppers have gone however things like dew points are good. Also the forecast has been changing on each run so tonights 12oz is miles different from yesterdays. So I wouldn't really call this until Friday.

Interesting GFS for Saturday. Potential for something significant on high ground in Central areas the further north the better.

Wasn't expecting this at 3am

BBC forecast is now saying heavy snow for Saturday (NW Leeds), Met Office saying sleet snow - both with very cold temperatures and some biting wind.

Meto is heavy snow for LBA. I would imagine you need to be around 200m to see any meaningful accumulations. The good news is ground temperatures will be cold from the current cold spell so low levels should see accumulations as well.
