Last shower of the day sadly the front that was to cross the region has fizzled out so unlikely too see any wintry stuff over the peaks tonight.

Another very wet day in Leeds be interesting to see how much rains fallen when I get home from work.

Surprised at the lack of warning.

Yes it's been a disgusting week. Fog, rain and drizzle for days now!

Let's hope the few days of nice weather next week turn up :)

Foggy again, wet and cold. Ground is sodden. Hopefully the forecast warmth will dry things out, but the North Sea is very cold, and as soon as there is any easterly in the wind (SSE to NNE) the cold sea triggers sea fret

Some very heavy thundery showers around this afternoon with hail in some places, enough to make it look as though its been snowing in a few locations.

This was near Chesterfield earlier.

After a fairly quiet week here albeit wet next Monday may have the last cry of winter as very heavy rain moves north east. Maybe enough cooling to produce some white fluffy stuff on higher ground.

24hrs all change with the low further east and the rain giving us a glancing blow. Tomorrow could be a different story.

Well the coast was forecast to be a bit rubbish today wasn’t it? I’m sat here in withernsea in blazing sunshine with a glass of wine. Can’t complain!

Blackpool just hit 27C making it the top hot spot in the country, followed closely by Liverpool and Chester. What a fantastic spell of weather in the NW.  Should really be in the NW thread, but much of the Dales is included in the spell of great weather, especially sunshine this month. Skipton nearer to Blackpool than Scarborough so geographically in the NW . Anyway great spell this for most of Northern England especially inland and the further Northwest.

Not a bloody drop of rain so far! I thought I was in for a Butt filling downpour but it looks like I'm out watering again tonight ( back willing!)

Maybe I'll do better if we get some storms tomorrow?

Another grey and misty day on the coast at withernsea. I still can’t believe the storms back home that I’ve missed! I’m kicking myself.

Well will we see storms pushing further north than the MetO warning area today?

I kinda hope that ,after dark, any remnants limping our way will be revitalised by the forced ascent over the Peak District and on to us!

We can do without the flooding but intense lightening would be nice.

Most of the region is under warnings for tomorrow - thunderstorms and heavy rain. We have missed out so far on the Lightning guess that is finally going to change.
