I'm really surprised that my area isn't in the Amber warning... I've already said, but we are getting hammered up here

Just walked the Mrs to work, I can confirm we've had lots and lots of snow overnight. :cold:

Been away for a long weekend in Filey, and although we've has extremely strong winds and frequent snow showers there is barely a dusting on the ground.  Having the day in Scarborough today then will be travelling back to Barnsley this evening.  Anyone in the Barnsley area or points in between tell me what road conditions are like.  Will be travelling A64, A1, M1.

Hard to say how much snow we had but there is around 6 to 8 inches with 2ft drifts. And there was nothing at all at 3pm yesterday! What an event! 20180318_063156.thumb.jpg.35492a057c836558472b85769f48ff75.jpg20180318_062958.thumb.jpg.6b50c051bc7f2d7b72fe6c868d0207e1.jpg20180318_062940.thumb.jpg.85ed5518237b331b0479fe336e44e5d8.jpg

Looking at the radar, there’s still a good few hours to come as well!

Winter wonderland in Scunthorpe good and proper! The road behind the fence in the photo is acdusk carriageway buried under the snow and the footpath on the far side of it appears to be under a huge snowdrift!

Woke to very wintry scenes. Think the sledge will be dusted off again. 3rd time already this March!

No bus services in the area with 3-4 inches widely and drifts blowing into feet of snow in places.

I've had 11cm according to the news but it's hard to tell.  Seems to have blown around quite a bit.

Wow, just had a proper wow open the curtains moment in North Sheffield. In the back garden there looks to be a foot of snow!!! In the front there are huge drifts but other areas with a covering as the wind has wiped things up.

Really looks amazing. I think we have beaten 2013, certainly beast 1 (no contest) and best after 2010!! And it’s mid March! ?

BBC says no snow at all between 4pm and 11pm. Met Office says heavy snow between 4pm and 11pm.

Who will win?

Met Office were correct. Today it's entirely the opposite way round!  BBC going for light showers all morning which will turn into heavier showers for the rest of the day and evening.

Met Office saying the odd shower this morning then clear for the rest of the day.

now have 4-6" widely across garden (DN20), drifts upto 18" against house and fences, still strong winds and still snowing albeit lightly now.

Only -0.3c according to our weather station but just been out to top up the birds fat balls etc and it feels alot colder than that.

Minus 5.2 windchill and a temp of minus 2.3c amazing for the middle of March.

Snow lightly falling in the wind hard to say how much because of the drifts.

Yeah, god knows how you could measure this.

On our flat areas on our fields we have 0 snow, and its really similar to the pictures of the Siberian Tundra, but anywhere that has a divet or a slope is covered in snow. Drifts over 2 foot in places but they are also random.

Met app says no snow for me after 8am.  Radar says different.  Anyone got any satellites images of further out into the North sea?

More snow overnight, perhaps 4-5 cm but that is a guess until I go out and measure it, -0.4 C with a low of -1.9 C
