Light snow falling here in Rotherham, looks like we missed out on the action from earlier snow.

Got to work on time last week every day. Today took me 2 and a half hours to go 3 miles. Chaos in Leeds this morning.

Left Newcastle this morning around 5.45am to head to Bolton. Ended up stranded at Whetherby instead and had to come back home. Really bad on the roads around there.

The skies are clearing and the sun is shining now, snow should be gone soon.

Melting very quickly as expected with it being so wet as snow goes.

Measured 6cm here whereas last Thursday evening (no melt but perhaps lost some due to wind) i measured 9cm.

So as things are set to get a little warmer at times for the next week or so the models are showing a return to cold for the second half of March. Maybe bringing more heavy snow especially for our Region and further north mainly inland and on higher ground but not exclusively. obviously things can change but with the jet still far south it’s very possible we could be in for more supprises as we move through March and into April. Maybe I’ll stick around on here for a few more weeks yet..lol.

pleased to hear that those who didn't get much snow last week have reported much more today.  it looked very pretty in SE Sheffield this morning but thankfully didn't cause any mega traffic issues getting to work.  very slushy and all gone now but I can see across Sheffield over the hills into the Peak District still a lot of white stuff there

Strange seeing half the road with a thaw and the other half with majority cover. The thaw side of the road is actually drying out.

It was nice to see some bonus snow even if it thawed in no time, if only it was as heavy as it was this morning last week and it truly would have been a memorable cold snap for me. Cant complain this winter though, it's been a vast improvement on the previous 4 dross winters we've had.

Strap yourselves in! Ecm wants to bring back the beast next weekend :)

Today is shelved the idea. However another warming going on and we know how badly the models dealt with that last time.

Looking like a shortend version this time on Sunday and next Monday as we're back to not as cold by the following Tuesday (if the models are right).

Horrid day here and it looking like The Beast from the East mk2 is coming. Again very short like the last one was but then the models are just firming up on whats happening. If it happens it should guarantee a well below month temperature wise and a very wet one.  Normal cold months tend to be dry.
