Not posted on netweather for a long time.

Just got back from Wakefield and theres barely 3" at calder park. I have 11" on the bins now and snowing hard here in Darton, Barnsley. The showers look to be merging on the radar.

Some say......

One of his legs gets longer when he sees a pretty lady.....

And that if he was going to issue an amber warning, he'd make sure at least 2cm of snow was forecast....

All we know is, he's called the beast from the east!

It's incredible isn't it?  Proper arctic weather with proper snow :)

So people, are we expecting same again tomorrow? Obviously there's a slight complication of the Southern Low....

It’s been a classic day (two days really). Everywhere covered in inches of snow, including the roads. Icicles on my nearest lamppost glistening in its light. A few major whiteouts during the evening (when I can’t see the lights from across the valley you know there’s major snowfall).

I hope that others elsewhere got at least some of this.

Showers are expected until about mid morning slowly becoming less frequent.

Storm Emma is putting us into a bit of a lull as it pushes ever closer and works out what route it wants to take. Some runs are now favouring us keeping the cold well in to next week and the storm going through more to the south although obviously unclear. We will know more in the morning I guess.. ?

Mostly light snow here now drifting in a strong wind. Winter wonderland can' tell how much snows fallen overnight but not much of Leeds will be moving today.

light snow right now doesn't look like much has been added overnight but it's hard to tell as it's blown about.
