Are we getting lightning in the city center?

Watching from a coffee shop is epic. I can see everything settling.

Hey Reef, for once they are pepping up as they approach (one has just turned yellow) and the wind is now slightly North of East so looking promising for the first decent snowfall here since 2010. Last blizzard I experienced was in 1982, don't think that will happen now but at least people are getting a flavour of some real severe weather eh?

I'm glad people are getting something and just hope we can join them. The radar looks a bit funny, I don't think it extends out into the North Sea very well.

You have to laugh though, what's the chance of this over 24 hours of precipitation, haha.

I'd love to know the meteorological explanation for that!

Radar is epic. The cloud we were watching earlier that was more solid seems not so stable afterall. Lots of very close showers.

I was looking at that slot lining itself up perfectly for me.

look at showers now, they seem to be coming in a tad more from NEE. Like I said yesterday a SE or SEE was terrible for our location but if we keep hanging onto E or NEE some of us could get a pasting

A fabulous day here in Grimsby. Lots of heavy blowing snow showers with a max temperature of -1. Not bad for the 28th of February. We have a good 8-10cm covering in most places now!

Increased precipitation showing on radar out to North East, East and South East.  Looks to me like all parts of Yorkshire could do well this evening and tonight!  Good luck everyone. ??

Big heavy flakes in NW Leeds. Road covered in no time. Glad I took half a day off and came home early! Rush hour will be grim.

I think the radar is at Ingham, just North of Lincoln and it looks like the range is about 100 miles or do, so probably 80 miles off the cost. Showers do seem to be pepping up and getting beefier, although the ones off Scotland look to be humdingers. I wonder if similar ones can develop and come ashore here in response to the slight change of wind direction?

It was mate, it took me over 2 hours to do a quarter mile! Ended up coming home and played in the snow with my daughter instead.
