The North Sea looks like it’s pepping up to me off our east coast?? Where do you get it looks barren Reef?? I don’t expect the potential for heavy showers for our region to calm a little until mid to late morning tomorrow when the Storm Emma starts to enter onto our shores and starts squeezing the isobars as it moves up...

The wind appears to have changed to a more ENE direction so things are perhaps looking up. Those showers looked to be heading NE of us but seem to be coming straight onshore now. Fingers crossed.

winds now East now so showers now forming in the n sea will push inland showers getting there act to better.

Yes if we get an ENE flow going it's game on for the whole region shower wise!

Certainly looking good for those North of here that's for sure!

It’s a better set up for the northern half of our region?. I suspected the winds would shift again it’s been on the cards all day ?

Don’t be worried about that at this stage in the day the sun is going down the temp is dropping so it will cool the ground further do any heavy showers that head for you and I hope they head for everyone will quickly build up. :friends:

Finally, York is in line for something significant (if the showers don't die)

I’m liking the look of all those showers out in the North Sea. Hopefully heading straight for our region ?

Possible MET Warning upgrades if its an ENE set up??

I doubt it. The showers don't look that heavy.

Yes I said earlier it wouldn’t surprise me if the Amber warning extends further south. We will see I guess ?

Temperature currently -5.0 here, snow measured at 12cm, drifts up to 30cm

Similar here in terms of depth. Not properly measure but we're on 10cm at least. Like you say drifts higher :)

Happy Spring-eve! :p

Nor would it surprise me. However showers were already expected for our region on and off tonight so I think there's a reason why we aren't already in an amber warning for tonight. Not expecting these showers to have the same coverage or intensity as those up north.

Yes, looking more likely on the radar for the Humber area to get a bit more of the

action I would think .. gone grey here and snowing moderately.

Clouds are moving really fast now, them showers just coming off north sea should take about 10 min to reach here in South Yorks...... I hope. :D

Moderate snow here too (finally), but despite a temp of -2.6C its not really settling yet as the ground is a bit warm from the sun. Might do better once the sun goes down.

I tell you what I wouldn't fancy being out walking on the North Pennines or Southern Uplands at the moment.

Conditions look mental up there!

Well we're on our 'couple of hours respite' but if those shower ( in the North sea to the east of Humber estuary?)  do as all the others have been doing then not only will they last ( and not fizzle as they travel like yesterday)  only to then intensify as they climb up the eastern slopes of the Pennines the M62 over rush hour will not be pleasant!

Looking at the speed of the other showers today that will be 6'ish tonight that the first wave ( already on land over the east) reaches and then there are at least 4 more 'waves' to pass over in the following hours. If more showers are forming up beyond the radars reach then we will be looking at crazy totals for some places over night?
