Lets hope everyone gets a bit of the action.  Think it's just too far South for sausage this time though so mum's the word!  :D

I hope so! Would be good for all of us to get in on the action! Poor Sausage ??

For Leeds (North West) Met Office going with chances of heavy snow early this afternoon, whilst BBC saying not and going for chances in early evening. They've both been wrong and right so far, so who knows!

Ian Fergusson said yesterday that he doesn't have much faith in the weather apps (not even the BBC one - note that's apps, not website information.)

Radar looking good for South Yorkshire if it holds together!

The BBC was spot on with the weather early in the week. They said light snow and they were right. MetO went with heavy snow and an amber warning. Today the MetO was right with the call of heavy snow (but in a yellow warning!), the BBC went for light snow and was clearly wrong. (Your mileage may vary!).

Unfortunately there is an area of drier air just off the east coast of Yorks.  This radar image clearly shows lack of showers in this area. We need winds to veer more NE to get more showers.

Screenshot_20180228-131521.png

The winds should of shifted to more of an Easterly then shortly to a ENE bringing in more heavy showers to the north & western half of the region.

True struggled to get on the met site this morning but both seem useless at times.

There are definitely more showers forming in the North sea now. These should blow over much of Yorks.

I've given up even looking at the weather apps/websites with regards snow. The models have some idea there will be snow but are useless at predicting exactly where in these easterly setups

Looking at the bigger picture on the radar maps you can see that the area of water between our region compared to the North East has less sea for these showers to travel over

This may explain what the intensity of the showers up north have been so heavy and persistent or I may just be talking a load of mooooopooo

Radar looks to be picking up in intensity again for much of the region. Think more snow is imminent for the region soon.

Hope so. We have big blue sky moving in and I don't want the snow cover to be damaged too much!

Bright sunshine and a drip thaw at Linton. I do hope we get some snow soon, it's been a bit underwhelming so far. Glad that others in the region have done so well.
