Looking at the radar flow, I can see a small area of convergence setting up right over my area in west leeds/ Bradford. Showers developing almost over head, even though we are north of the main streamer (which is currently hammering south Yorkshire!) Shower activity generally pepping up, and more showers out over the north sea, which should hit west Yorkshire later the afternoon.

Don't give up hope west Yorkshire, there are a lot of interesting things happening, and an evolving picture. Keep looking at the radar!!

South Yorkshire streamer looks like it will die off in next hour or so. My next area of interest is the showers just south east of hull that are now appearing on radar. These look more in line with west yorkshire!

Streamer just about clear of us now.  I can't work out whether that Amber Warning issues an hour ago is for the streamer that is just moving away or whether they are expecting something else to pop up?

I would suspect it is for the existing streamer as the warning looked in line with that when it was issued and there is nothing much on the radar in the North Sea at the moment but it is valid until 4pm so who knows?!

Anyway we have about three inches of snow on the ground at the moment so can't complain either way!  :cold:

I can only imagine that Amber warning was issued for the certain locations in that area that had already received most the showers and then the streamer edged them into the new warning along with whatever conditions comes of the North Sea this later this afternoon.. That’s my thoughts anyhow.?

I think West Yorkshire is done with for now. Something might pep up mid/ late afternoon, but can't see anything major happening. Not that I'm complaining. We have around 4 inches on the ground here and it's not melting.

Local radio is reporting a change in tomorrows forecast. It's gone from no snow to potentially heavy snow showers? We will see.

If we get nothing more now then I cannot complain. It's beautiful out there!

Lots of icicles today, especially on cars where the slush has frozen. Much colder than it was yesterday and thd wind is whipping up the snow.

Just about 2 inches so adequate for sledging!

Two and a half inches or so in Bramley according to the ruler I took outside a short while ago.  Bramley was just a few miles north of the heavier stuff in the streamer, so it could easily have been a lot more.

Yes Yellow warning now in force for the whole region down into the Midlands for snow showers all day tomorrow.  5-15cms apparently?

Yes great to see hallmarks of a classic cold spell outside now. Icicles, deep powder snow, drifting and severe windchill.

Looking at the streamer it has faded slightly and it's more focused towards southern Sheffield and N Midlands as it trundles on. A few pockets of precip further north but I'd say northern Sheffield and some central parts of the city outside of the main streamer now.

Been out for a walk recently and got thoroughly blasted by the cold and snow. Amazing!

Current depths here in Waterthorpe/Crystal Peaks I'd say 4 inches level, obviously a little more where it has drifted.
