Yorkshire & E England Regional Weather Discussion

Also, and I know it sounds like a cop out, but much of the next few days will be all nowcasting as we see where streamers set up depending on wind direction and disturbances coming in off the N Sea. It's all subject to minor change as each hour passes which makes a huge difference at surface level. The charts and forecasts will only summarise risk areas and likely locations for snowfall, yet locally we'll see quite large differences.

That's why it is important on here to keep informed and not let emotions run too high. We have moaning threads for that after all.

Look north showing a big body of snow moving across the whole Yorks region in a SW direction and some of North Lincs tonight. Persistent snow showers tomorrow but not sure how high they extend up to.

Have they done the forecast already? Only just switched on thinking it'd be 18:50 ish.

Remember that this will be a straight easterly in 48 hours not a South Easterly, don't follow the isobars.

Always been a little confused about this. How do we work out the wind direction if we don't follow the isobars?

Agree totally. That being said I don't like the current track of the precip on the radar currently. Looks to miss quite comfortably to the N and W of here unless it expands/ shifts on a more southerly track.

Will be watching it anxiously this evening.

Christ don't encourage them!  I may have to go and listen to my Morrisey album to cheer myself up at this rate!  :D

In a peverse way though I do love the banter we have in here even sausage and his constant positive attitude!

I've been thinking exactly the same regarding the current track of the precipitation.  It's going to have to change direction or expand considerably to hit most of Yorkshire.  At the current rate I'd day North West Yorks and then into a county not to be named in a Yorkshire thread. ?

Why the disappointment, today's been as forecast hasn't it?

The Polar Continental airmass has announced its arrival with leaden skies, snow flurries and windchill taking it below 0C most of the day

The real action starts tomorrow, as has been forecast for several days

Well said my friend...:drinks:

been trying to say it all day. :wallbash:

Just some hints of some heavier showers developing off the East Coast to the NE of Hull?

Look North local forecast looked good for much of the region tonight as well.
