I just watched the met office video forecast. Not sure when it was iussued but the graphic had the snow completely missing us to the west in the morning

Jon Mitchell on Calendar just had it hitting western parts of North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire. Time for it it track further South yet though.

Isn't that just downright irresponsible of you? Surely you have customers, work colleagues and even bosses who depend on you and they are a bit more important than watching a computer screen all night and then you not being fit to go to work.

You do want you want, but I think its a disgrace to let other people down over something that is so incredibly, unimportantly, selfish.

The snow will come or not regardless of you watching it all night.

i run my own business .......and i work between 50 - 60 hours a week anyway......so i can do what i want thank you very much.

( and i obviously love snow more than you too )

Blimey ....Has Sausage moved to East Yorkshire ?

Yes agreed rate this cold snap/spell when it's over yes it might be rubbish doesnt help how the media overhype things though but might be justisfed yet. If your expecting blizzards then u need to lower your expectation unless your on Ben Nevis. 5 to 10 cm is more then aquedate for low lying areas. Plenty of showers likely tomorrow and Wednesday and Friday looks good up to now.

Had that snow right over us in South Yorkshire later tonight, showery activity doesn't look good for those further south over next couple of days, I think they'll have to wait for system coming in from South West, that should be over us by Friday.

I'm a bit concerned about that chart they showed with isobars trailing all the way in to far south of Europe instead of present far east. This could spell an end to cold spell over weekend though it would be a very slow process.

Pretty much, but not sure why. I think the issue is that this is probably the best setup possible for this location for snow. The worry is if it doesn't deliver, then what?

I'll probably have to become a mild fan....er, maybe not!

Well if the trough misses us tomorrow morning Reef it looks like we have a window of around 30 hours for snow showers Tuesday and Wednesday before they become focused further North.

Not going to rely on Friday, as that's still up in the air so lets hope we see some good accumulations during our snow window.

Nothing wrong with that! Yes the 12pm Tues image on the face of it doesn't look amazing, but that's because the morning snow has since cleared into Wales with showers following on behind (which we can see). Worth remembering there is 6hrs between those first two images so a lot of precip movement not accounted for.

Wednesday's 6am looks great with a number of heavy snow streamers ready to move in for the day.

And that forecast was based on EURO4 06z output. It has updated as I posted and the forecast is highly fluid.
