Yes, I'm also working out what my strategy is. What is the ETA of the main event?

I would say 4am / 5am for West Yorkshire and 5am / 6am for South Yorkshire looking at the models?

Some decent showers should get going this evening though to whet the appetite!

Looking at the latest forecast on news 24. Looks like it will start around 5am before it’s moved through by 10am. Think most of us should see between 2-5cm with maybe north York moors around 10cm.

Pretty much, but not sure why. I think the issue is that this is probably the best setup possible for this location for snow. The worry is if it doesn't deliver, then what?

I'll probably have to become a mild fan....er, maybe not!

GFS shifted northwards slightly so Sheffield on the edge of things tomorrow. Probably start with light snow which turn to showery as the day goes on. Not expecting a great amount from it say 1cm to 2cm.

The snow is containing a lot of pollution my car windscreen was filthy when I got to the car. Probably explains why the stuff was melting even with temps below zero.

Just had some icing sugar snow which brought temps down to -1.2C

Snowing here in Rotherham, most places white over now.

Was looking like it might settle in for a while from Bramley through to Broom but ran out of gas by the town centre. Each attempt in the last couple of hours has been stronger though. Looking forward to the week ahead.

I know your a glass half full poster but mate I bet you £100 for charity you get bare minimum 5cm tonight! Nearer 10cm to be honest there are rates of 4cm per hour for nearly 2 hours as a starter over Sheffield!

Wouldn't be to concerned yet the main action was tomorrow and Wednesday anyway wasn't it? If your expecting an anything like Feb 91 will be disappointed I would be happy with 5 to 10 cms not expecting Dec 10 depths . Just an case of getting lucky and some will fare better then and others.

I didn't expect anything today to be honest. I'm cautiously optimistic for tomorrow morning. Here's hoping it moves a little slower than predicted.

The low is now on the edges of the UK Radar!

Also according to the radar there is snow almost over the whole region currently, its just light expect it to get heavier once it gets dark and the temps drop.

Can't say I'm overly surprised with today's results. I'm very nervous about the track of tomorrow's low though - hope we don't miss out and can see myself being up very late trying to track it's progression across the N Sea and working out the track!

Snow showers got a little heavier here over the last hour but nothing laying. Expecting more oomph in the showers tomorrow and Weds.

What's the point of the BBC issuing the Met Office amber warning and then having its weather apps display the symbol for light snow and sunshine as its graphic on the weather app on all those places under an amber warning?

Looks like it should be snowing most of time seeing radar but I think some of it isn't reaching ground, evaporating?

Starting to freeze up now so anything that does fall will settle... Just got odd flakes falling at moment.
