Met office have light snow showers developing late Sunday onwards. As the winds veer more easterly/north easterly and the colder uppers come in convection will kick off. Not exclusively for the coast, from this time of the year onwards solar heating can beef those showers up well inland.

You will be very lucky / unlucky for that to happen. The pattern that seems to be forming will produce a snow event of some sort at some point next week, irrespective of the convective snow.

Still more madness on the Mod Thread. One thing is for sure. I know who I would potentially go into business with and who not. As some won’t even take a calculated risk, never mind a bold one!

They should form a separate fantasy land thread for any charts over 3-5 days away. You'd get a more accurate prediction from your granny's arthritic knee than the stuff posted that far out.

Nothing much has actually changed. It will get cold and likely some snow in places amounts tbc.

We are still on course for the cold to arrive late Sunday and then gradually becoming snowier from there.

UKMO looks a little drier for our region but is very good for long term cold and potential snowy attacks from the NE further down the line.

The GFS mean however looks pretty rock solid for a continuation of the cold and snowy outlook so eyes down for the ECM.  :cold:

Edit - ECM looks better than the UKMO with widespread snow / snow showers moving into Yorkshire on Monday.

Can we start by banning any posts regarding Paul Hudson or Gallagher.

They can't say snow or cold to save their lives. Only stuff from this young lady.....and Albert Thwataknacker on main beeb forecast

Local forecast only shows flurries here but bloomin cold. GFS run seems to be the odd one out throwing out a silly low pressure which fills reforms fills and reforms no charts have this feature. Although should bring some welcome snow. GFS otherwise looks fairly dry and I don't buy there low pressure system.

A quick look into what ECM is showing for Monday-Weds next week.

Monday: Very cold with an easterly wind, light snow showers affecting eastern areas.

ECU1-120.GIF?21-0ECU0-120.GIF?21-0

Tuesday: Even colder and a stronger easterly leading to an increase in snow showers in eastern areas, these pushing further inland. Also notice the shortwave that could bring an increased period of snow, potentially for the most southern parts of the region based on that pressure chart.

ECU1-144.GIF?21-0ECU0-144.GIF?21-0

Wednesday: Still very cold with uppers approaching -14c, snow showers still affecting eastern areas, these perhaps coming lighter as pressure builds somewhat from the North.

ECU1-168.GIF?21-0ECU0-168.GIF?21-0

Not sure about recent but it is a sight to behold.

The snow looks fun as well!  :D

The pub run has just buried our region in the white stuff.  I think we would still be digging ourselves out in May!

I don't think for one minute it will verify by the way but it is just yet another variation on the cold and snowy theme about to envelop Yorkshire.  :cold:
