Regardless of whether we end up with deep snow or the odd flurry over the weekend into early next week it is going to turn darn cold and stay cold for the foreseeable.

All the time that remains the case the chance of a decent snow event can only increase surely?

Most runs this afternoon look brilliant for our region although I do accept the UK would probably be a little drier than the rest.

Here's hoping for a Stellar ECM!  :D

what time is that due ?

Yep, it’s going to be cold, but just can’t help thinking it will all be happening around my particula location - I refer to an earlier post I made, we seem to be too far north/south/east/west of all the good stuff that comes to the UK at the moment. Apart from rain. We get tons of rain...

Thanks, yes I am aware the forecast is for the whole of the UK!

Sorry buddy I didn’t mean to sound sarcastic if it came across that way or any other way some people just get confused by wordings on forecasts as we are classed northern England and when they see Central they assume midlands when in fact the likes of Leeds/Bradford is pretty much the most Central part of the UK. ?

IF these charts happen then Yorkshire will be PASTED.

Beautiful ECM

And for those worried about snow check these streamers setting up homing for Yorkshire. Great trends!

I certainly do. I also remember Harry Gration stood up at Norton in Sheffield on Look North lol and it was an almighty blizzard then, i said theres no way hes getting home to York lol. What an epic 2 days that was!

30/11 was good but then waking up on 01/12 and opening the curtains to well over a foot of snow with it still coming down.........WOW. Could we repeat it?? Possibly with these uppers forecast :cold:

I'm thinking a February 91 event.

Surely we're only going to get downgrades.

Hope we get what we all deserve.

Yep the day after I moved house.  Was fun driving the hired removal van back without a scratch!

14 inches by the morning of 1 December if I remember rightly and I think some parts of Sheffield had a few more inches than that!  This setup could easily rival that In my opinion.  :cold:

Yes, I remember looking at the reports in Sheffield, feeling very envious. That streamer eventually moved further north during the day and gave us around 6 inches, not a patch on what you guys got.

It's been 23 years since I saw a foot or more of snow and I will eat my hat if we get anywhere near that next week.

This was 1st December 2010. Gfs 18z shows better setup so could this be beaten? ?

Certainly is alot of excited folk in the model thread. Gotta admit, i'm hoping it comes off and scenes like these from Feb 1991 repeat!

Can we have a photo of you eating your hat in your garden surrounded by 18 inches of snow please?!  :D

All the models are gearing up for some kind of event how bad and how cold and how much snow we get only time will tell.

If we get streamers with extreamly cold weather followed by weather systems pushing up from the continent stalling over central UK it could be an event not seen for our area since 91.

Whatever happens our entire region should see at least a snow flake going into next week and into the start of March as even a downgrade to these amazing models will still deliver something.

But saying all this some of us may never see a better setup and if it delivers it has the potential for some extreme disruption for most the UK.
