Feb 2012 was very under rated probably because of 2009 and 2010 and Jan 2013. So kind of gets forgotten It  was an great spell here didn't it get down to -16 in Holbeach pretty impressive and the first half of the month was sub zero cet only  cancelled out by an very mild second half. Better then feeble snowfalls had in last five years.

Yes it got very cold here - 11c in Skegness could feel the brutal cold air inside me by just breathing 2 foot drifts as well in some places here

Radar looks cr*p at the moment which is a surprise (not).  Need the wind direction to switch more Westerly and even then I am not sure if it will be cold enough for anything meaningful below 200m.

It looks like our last chance saloon is Sunday and a snow to rain event but beggars can't be choosers I suppose!

Country wide snow event anyone?

Uppers appear too warm sadly. Would love to see this but I think the Arpege will be shown to be out in its own on this one...

again on your pont kentish. with what you say why do the met have us under a warning n the apps show heavy snow tomorrw cos i cant see it either.

The warning covered from lunchtime today until midnight tomorrow night and to be fair if you look at it for our region it pretty much just covers the Pennines so anybody low down in Yorkshire is unlikely to see much at all in the way of snow except maybe North Yorkshire.

I think these warnings are far too wide ranging and confusing to be honest.  Not expecting anything here tonight or tomorrow although we may get lucky for a few hours on Sunday?

Just a bit light rain here at the moment.  Wonderful!

back to the warning is it just me who thinks the met n bbc are mking a laughing stock of themselves for here?!!

Well there looks to be a fairly quick transition from -5 to +5 on GFS 12z

The BBC seems to be permanently forecasting me heavy snow until a minute before it’s meant to come when it changes it to rain. Nowcasting

Apparently we are forecast snow tomorrow but it's strange, looks like clump just appears.

Stepped out of the house this morning and almost went bottom over mammary on my driveway!

Sheet black ice everywhere and light drizzle falling.

Lovely winter weather!  :diablo:

If you believe the latest GFS run the showers from the West are due to pick up later and extend East right across our region (mainly South and West Yorkshire) and even into Linconshire and Norfolk.

I believe Colder 850s are supposed to be filtering in later as well but I will believe that when I see it!

For what's it's worth said run also gives us snow chances tomorrow afternoon and Sunday morning due to fronts pushing up from the South West before the milder air finally gets in later on Sunday.

Will probably amount to half an hour of sleet for my area but I will stay positive being the optimist I am!
