Away in Vancouver where it is positively mild. I've just checked my camera's at home and Sheffield looks like it's having a good snow day.  Can't make out the true depth but it looks like a nice covering. Some abandoned cars on the side road.

Back on a Thursday, I hope it lasts.

By the way my date is correct but the time is slightly ahead of what it should be.

A complete fail here yet again. We had that one snow shower around 7pm which left a dusting but it melted after a couple of hours. Pretty much nothing since other than a sleet shower at 2am. Its actually been above 1.2C all night and has currently risen to 2.4C.

Not hopeful for tonight either. :(

2.5 deg  here in Bingley with sleet.

Showers just died a death here.

Starting to melt.

Not hopeful at all for tonight.

Morning all,
Woken to just the merest overnight dusting of snow.
It has settled even on the village roads though.

See if we get the gales/snow associated next.

B.  :)

Must have changed to sleet/rain overnight at some point. Sleeting now. Reasonable cover of wet, icy snow, but less now than when I went to bed, despite showers through the night.

BBC forecast keeps switching between sleet and snow for tonight.

Hardly any snow on the ground here. Wasn't expecting much to be honest. When the forecast kept pushing the heavy snow time back you just know the Met don't know what's going to happen and usually it means nothing major will happen.

Doesn't luck like much chance of any more snow this week. The wind has arrived already though.

Actually in Sutton - but yes in the valley. If the rain/sleet we've had had all fallen as snow we'd have plenty, yes.

Re tonight.

Yes depends on the track of course but at the moment the heavier precipitation and evaporative cooling could be a plus if we're in the centre.

If it tracks further south I think lower ground will be transient snow with it remaining on the hills.

Again that's thinking positively but after so many busts,I'm not expecting much tbh.

I keep seeing mention of more snow tonight, but forecast for my area keeps switching between nothing through sleet and snow - is it expected to be a Yorkshire wide event or just certain areas?

Almost exactly where my description says :) In a farm, nearest village of any size starts with the same first letters as my name.

Bonus little heavy snow shower here in East Morton.  Radar looks like that might be possible throughout the day.

Too marginal tonight I suspect for lowland East Yorkshire. We had some good snowfall on the Wolds last night . Was up at High Hunsley l at 10pm and it was thick and wonderful

Really localised falls here (east edge of Doncaster) guessing it was snow and sleet mixture overnight as there is a dusting/ Cm or so but scattering between villages, working just south of here and Gringley on the hill which is maybe only 100m or so higher much whiter, had to pop down be rude not too :D

Nope no wind up. But I’m only at 150m asl has some sleet earlier which has now turned to heavy rain. Not saying the higher routes over holmfirth meltham etc aren’t covered. But down here it’s very wet and unpleasant.

Very strange i am at around 150m just south of Sheffield and it was all snow here.
