To get the showers here they need to be north of where they have been recently but there are some coming in now.

On my way from work in Morley to Penistone and gone 2 miles in nearly 2 hours it’s griflock with the compressed ice on the roads. Interesting that as I dropped into the  bottom of Morley the temp has dropped from 0 to plus 2!

Been chaos around here the shower around half 4 didn't half cause some carnage.

That just came through here as well!

Very heavy snow for around 10-15 minutes has left a thin covering.  Some of it was blowing horizontal in the wind too!

Very hopeful for tonight now as the conditions for showers are peaking over the next few hours and Paul Hudson's forecast tonight suggested more persistent snow in the early hours (between around 1am and 3am) as an occluded front crosses our patch from the NW a bit like this forecast;

Lamp post watch has been activated!  :D

so many haven’t a clue how to drive in snow, seen so many just revving and spinning the tyres thinking more Revs = more grip...crazy!

Not sure where you are in Barnsley, but nothing on th outskirts of town except wet snow which isn't settling... Looking like yet another let down to me.  Radar not looking that great either....

Upto about 4cm's here already. Wouldn't be shocked if we have 10cm's by day light tomorrow.

Radar looks quite rubbish all of a sudden.  Not quite the shower activity we were hoping for!  :nonono:

Precipitation coming over Southport has Huddersfield and Barnsley's name on it.

Anything over Blackpool says Leeds.
