Just noticed on radar that things seem to be tracking in a southerly direction now.

Definitely been a swing round from SW to NE. A few flakes fluttering around but absolutely nothing to get excited about.

Latest update from Garforth... Still coming down and we're gradually getting covered... Smaller flakes at the moment though. 20171210_133934.thumb.jpg.e6c205a1149ff48135407891a3b42aac.jpg

The radar does seem to be coming to life to our NW at the moment and I actually have a heavy snow symbol back for 5pm so maybe it is not a total write off yet?  :cc_confused:

Last few radar updates have west and north Yorkshire filling up with precipitation, the midlands seems to be losing the holes that had appeared too.

Light snow for the last hour or so here, struggling to settle apart from cold surfaces but an unexpected surprise :)

Now dry with a steady thaw not surprising as the snow was melting when the temp was at -2C which shows there's a lot of pollution in it. Even robbed of an ice days as the temp has just popped it's head above zero.

I used to live in High Wycombe and was rather amused to see Gerrad Cross on TV wth light snow falling although the presenter said it was heavy. I think the 12cm there is rather exaggerated certainly didn't look anything like that amount on the TV.

Ilkley seems to be getting a pounding if the radar is right. Light snow here and has been for about 45 minutes, but is slowly increasing in flake size.

Actually snowing fairly well here right now. Radar shows it increasing in PPN but not actually moving over us at any great speed.

The models were toying with this idea of it pivoting over us, and then snowing from about now till tomorrow. They dropped it though in yesterday's 12z runs, wonder how long it will stay around us.

We have had some heavy snowfall with decent flakes for apx 30 minutes here in East Morton above Bingley West Yorks.  Things pivoting inland from the East and heading North West?
