Christ I didn't realise West Kingsdown was that high up?!  Almost mountainous by Kent standards!

its still just about getting to us, so itl only take a bit of a nudge north. Still might see something. The angle and latitude so far over Ireland still looks good, aiming for us.

Although BBC have removed the heavy snow symbol for Sheffield now except for 11am :nonono:

It just seems uncanny that that lot could miss us,you wouldn't think so looking at the latest track,confused.com.

Latest forecast for Barnsley is very disappointing!  Only yesterday it looked like we were going to get 36 hours of continuous snow with 9 hours of that heavy.  Now it looks like we will be lucky to get 3 or 4 hours of light snow!  Oh well, better start looking for the next opportunity...

yes i completely agree with you. I still think we may do OK. Even if its down to a yellow warning then that still said 2-5cm so every chance well get a decent covering i think. Just maybe not the widespread travel disruption we thought.

with 5-10cm in places

i think we will be lucky to get 1cm at this rate,it's sad really cos we have nice cold entrenched air in place for having the powdery type snow and not the slush fest, and we could miss out on the heavy goods:nonono:

Yup we can forget the event tomorrow by the looks of it. None event coming up. Perhaps tonight's light showers are the main event :sorry:

The BBC forecast now doesn't have any snow for us at all tomorrow... Ah, well.

It snowed on and off most of this afternoon and that wasn't forecast anywhere I saw (although it hasn't accumulated at all).

I obviously cursed Yorkshire by deciding against going back north for this. Something told me it was edging too far south for comfort.

Ironically Transport for London have been warned that there will be accumulations in London. And some models shows a complete snow event for this neck of the woods.

Monday is also looking like a potential snow day for London, could see blizzards with the gale force winds.

Its always sad losing a snow event, especialy as they are so rare and particularly because the past few winters have been dire! Ill just be happy with anything now in the morning lol. Lets wait and see.

And as others have said, its still very early in the season and this winter does look to be shaping up a lot better than the last few :)

London Heathrow suspended all flights once in January this year because they thought it might snow, even though it never did. I can't even begin to imagine the absolute chaos that will ensue if London gets a slushy covering. It will probably be headline news for days.
