Had some heavy(ish) snow/ hail/ sleet in Ilkley in the last hour. It's snowing a little now. It's a bit wet and not settled on the ground but it's covered the cars a little. Here's my new doorbell keeping an eye on my lamp post :) https://ring.com/share/6496926200356750709

The 18z hasn`t deviated one little bit from the 12z regarding snowfall for Yorkshire, still has the pivot and keeps us almost 24 hours non stop snowing .. now that would be a reet treat :)

So the gfs 18z moves north again. Don’t think this saga will be resolved until Saturday nights 18z runs at this rate.

If these corrections north keeps going then Yorkshire will be in the sweet spot. Especially when it pivots.

Good luck putting your faith in GFS compared to all other models it’s the most extreme northerly track. I anticipate a shift southwards. But good luck.

Absolutely, the last time i saw a pivot similar to this was March 2013.. with a slight easterly drift like what is being modelled, not as good as 2013 though but should produce a concertina effect up against the pennines

I'm not getting too confident - but yes, it looks okay for our patch of the world. Even the more southerly ECM delivers 2-4 inches which can't be sniffed at!

its a model , like all models they do have their own bias...i dont need luck , the weather will do what it wants... im just showing what is more than likely inevitable ..not what you anticipate ok !!

Moderate snow shower here.

I've got a feeling we're gonna get a decent amount of snow on Sunday.

I don’t really understand how everyone is talking about a 24hr snow event on Sunday - when I look at the forecast page for my area, it shows a snow to rain event. I really hope it doesn’t go that way...

I've looked through a few charts of similar set ups with blocking to our east and not to our east and have to say it as always slightly favoured a same or northward track.

That's all I'm going by tbh but if it does develop a wave or deepen a slight north correction for precip is likely for me.

Always been South York's,derby and over to South of Manchester. But west York's will do 4"+I think.

Interested to test it out.
