Looks like the Met Office all over doing the night temperatures again. Dewpoints indicating a low of around 12C again and not the predicted 18C. Been interesting watching how badly the GFS and Met office are doing but in reverse. GFS getting night time temps about right while the Met office out by a way while in the day it's the other way round.

Yup dead rubber here so far. Noticed the storm popped up at the wrong end of the country.  Bit of a whoopsee for the Met but those down in the south east will be happy.  Temp rocking up. To klll any chances of any storms here I've got my new feed up and running http://www.sheffieldweather.net/StormStation5NGX/stormstation.htm

Storms kicking off in the perfect place for yorkshire, things ticking along nicely! My original concern was they would develop over us and push away north east just as they get good.

Damn it, Sheffield too far south as predicted by PIT!

This developed so quickly but cant even hear any thunder here. Looks active though. Nice view of the back edge  :)

Small chance again of a thunderstorm overnight it seems....we shall see. Some instability showing up now, high wispy clouds.....

Caught the sun a little today! Missed a few spots with the sun spray.

It's been a lovely day and a great weekend in prospect, too. Fire up the BBQ's :D

Wasn't in Leeds on that day, which is typical but this appeared on the local facebook group for Crossgates. It also caused a local 2h power cut in the area too.

Back in Yorkshire for a few days now. Metoffice has a low risk high impact warning for storms. Been very unlucky this year so far.

Some of the shops in the arndale were shut, ditto at Colton Retail Park. My cousin works at the Sainsbury's there and the part of the ceiling caved in.

What are peeps thoughts on our region getting a battering this eve and tonight?

Personally I think the excitement re severe weather will be further south into ne,E Wales and Northern Midlands.

Temps just not rising this far north and behind this annoying rainband.

Don't worry we look right in the firing line, but as ever with storms you could miss out while 5 miles down the road gets battered. Whilst we don't have the highest temps like further south, we seem to look likely to have more shear, forcing and instability.

well, the weather's playing a strange one this week.

yesterday the radar showed light showers over us constantly all day, yet we had 1 very early and that was it. Dry all day.

Now it's showing nothing, yet it's raining, even the forecast says it should be dry! I got washing to do :)

Anyways, looking forward to a possible light show tomorrow. still forecast around here with 70% chance

Well same for today. Weather front slower to decay than expected.

Local forecast going against the national forecast in a positive manner for tomorrow. The local forecast has been right for no storms the last few times so sods law will mean it'll get this one wrong and we'll get a blank again.

our forecast has now changed. just a 57% chance between 6pm-7pm!

ah well, good while it lasted :)  :)

this morning, I will say, it doesn't feel warm enough or muggy enough for storms. there's hazy sunshine and we keep getting the odd gust of wind.

I really, really, really need to get myself a new weather station. I hate not knowing what the stats are outside...

A distant rumble of thunder about 30 mins ago, a quite a few more since, now coming in quite dark, and checking the radar looks like we may get something here, am I leaving the 'no storms 2017' club tonight? Looks like the Wolds south of Malton are having some downpours radar is showing 150mm/hour in places

I've never seen rain like this afternoon. Went for a drive in the country and drove through 2 foot of water, cars at standstill. Great broughton pub flooded out too. Hailstones smashing the car. Scary stuff
