Just driven back from the girlfriends, took a slight detour via carlecotes, was going to go through Dunford Bridge and on to woodhead but the snow was falling pretty heavily, I'd say a couple of cm's on the ground.

Rain turning to sleet here probably snow on top however we need the rain to continue if there's any chance of it turning to snow lower down and that's 50/50 at the moment.

yeah hopefully! Last chance saloon to see a snowflake this season maybe.

Keeley Donovan was on radio Sheffield at tea time and she said maybe a cm or 2 around the peak district tonight and even the risk of something more substantial for us all Tuesday night into Weds! Heres hoping :)

dont know what to make of tonight, TV have played it down but other forecasts still show snow. Conditions looks favourable at the moment...maybe the last restless, curtain twitching night of the season haha!

Local forecast has it dry tonight here radar suggest we may get some rain shortly. Dew points slowly rising so don't get too excited.

Id say probs Sunday afternoon, not too late though!

ECM showing wintry showers along the east coast this time next week so maybe a BBQ and a snowchase in the same week?

Woke to a light frost this morning.  Glad I didn't rush to plant up at the allotment.

Now to see how warm we get  :)

B.

* My outdoor thermometer says we made 18 C here.

River levels in the Dales seem low to me. I have been frozen up here for the past 6 days and just worked out how to use the log burner. Think I will go back to Austria for some warmth ! A trip to Spain beckons to get away from this chilled air. Not as cold as Stockholm, my daughter reported snow in the city yesterday with temp of -1c in the late afternoon. -5C first thing this morning but the sun is shining over there this morning. Same old weather in Skipton, cold and cloudy but with a hint of sun shafts but at least dry.

Welcome back to the best county, North Yorkshire of course.

Life in the Dales is fairly bleak, log burner all year round, however here east of the Vale of York we fair much better with only 7/8 months of log burning and plenty of sunshine to boot.

Cold not at all just normal temperatures and a mild start. A brief cold spell next week though and tomorrow may have a surprise for those very high up. A nice afternoon at the moment though with plenty of sun.:)

Yes, its the best county. Cold and cloudy this morning in Skipton but clouds fairly high and the wind light so not too bad. Still have log burner on full load ! Thankfully, the rather dry spell continues.

Lovely mild weekend so far Sunday looks good as well hopefully. Sadly garden growing like mad with just enough rain to keep it going. Next the question will be will the showers be heavy enough to bring snow next week. In the springs of the 70's early 80's the answer would have been yes. It's a long time since we've had heavy Snow showers providing a real dumping of snow then the sun to come out and melt it all away within minutes only for the pattern to repeat itself. Sometimes if you were lucky and the snow fell late enough in the day to lie overnight. Not seen that for years though.

Lovely warm spring day again. Coming brief cold snap looks quite potent pity it didn't happen in winter though. Had to top up one of the ponds which is rare for this time of year.
