What a difference with BBC latest graphics just now compared to yesterday.

Fits with latest model output though. But a notable cold spell coming up and other chances over the weekend so no need to worry, was always regarded as a small chance of snow.

Between going out at nine this morning and coming back at ten, the temperature has dropped a coupe of degrees although can't say it was freezing, i went out barelegged and wasn't cold, now it is getting very very dark so something is going to fall from the sky very soon, seems to me like the darkness before a hailstorm.

Beats me. Waiting on the MetO warning update, which should be issued soon.

It's a good couple of degrees colder outside, however I'm not expecting any meaningful snow today or tomorrow. Perhaps next week but it's too marginal and far out.

Sorry just looks to wet for any to settle unless you are higher up, I don't count it as snow unless it stays around for a day or so .

Most encouraging line for me is "delaying the start time a little"

I am still thinking rain until around 5-6pm, then gradually turning more wintry after this with the potential for an hour or two of some fairly heavy snow falling on the back edge. Unlikely accumulations to low levels, but perhaps a few cm up on the hills.

HI Steve,

What are your thoughts for Sunday eve ?
I thought temps were expected to be into high single figures for the brief warm-up on Sun/Mon ?

I think that's called "stick" rather than "twist". They clearly just do not know. Lamp-post watching it is, then!

Although looking a little less intense than yesterday i think most will see some flakes falling and certainly some settling especially if the front stalls slightly allowing the colder air to dig in after dark. Bonus snowfall which crept up on this region and perhaps further wintriness in the not too distance future so whats not to be happy about?

Haha. Eyes to the lamp posts from about 6pm tonight mate. Hopeful of some beefy flakes for an hour or two before it clears.

It says this: Rain moving eastwards across the south of the UK today may turn to snow in places.

Bolded the relevant word, still uncertainty.

The delay indicates a weaker low which is not good news as per my last post, however the latest meto update seems to suggest very little has changed, all eyes on the radar and reports from members later today

It then continues 'The most likely scenario is for 2 to 4 cm to fall above about 100 m elevation across parts of southeast England with 1 to 2 cm to low levels in places.' Sure, track of low is ridiculously difficult to predict given that cyclogenesis is only just about underway, etc
