I would say south of London i.e Epsom that area that will see the most snow

Not according to latest BBC weather. Darren Bett had the snow line further north with south midlands and EA at most likely disruptive zone.

I very much doubt Epsom would see more snow than elevated areas of the counties.

All depends on track and insensity.

Use METO warnings and TV forecasts as guidance for now, but as ever it will be a nowcast event.

The lastest GEFS charts look fantastic for our reigion:-)

One would expect the high res models to be much better than the ens for picking up snowfall tomorrow unless you are speaking about further ahead

For wondering what I consider 'Lot's' of snow, these pictures are from the now famous snow event in December 2010. (I have more) Doesn't give it justice quite how heavy it was.

BTW I don't expect this in the slightest tomorrow.

Yeah I know. I'm just giving an impression of what I consider to be a heavy snow fall. Not comparing that to now.

Interesting to see the METO warning go up a step in risk, so used to seeing it downgrade or go to nothing at all.

I have to admit, I am excited.

At first it won't but as the colder air pushes south and the temps start to drop it could happen, probably looks at 5pm onwards for any type of settling snow, albeit limited as it clears away.

That forecast seems to have that band a lot further north than what's been shown on the model outputs, be interesting to watch none the less.

In the sunshine it felt quite warm, there's a distinct possibility when it does turn it will come down thick and fast, it may do so quite extensively I have a feeling we're in for a surprise.

I think there will be some big surprises with this and I am fairly hopeful of seeing a couple of inches.

I have seen many of these rain to snow events and believe me once it starts to snow and DP's drop it will readily stick. Poeple moaning about ground temps being too high - we have had a number of frosty days since the start of winter with ground temps staying below freezing all day despite air temps of 3/4c - I think the ground is plenty cold enough now.

Finally, if the precipitation is heavy expect falling snow even before upper air temps are conducive for it due to evaporative cooling.

Being right on the coast is a bloody curse at times! Looks very marginal here but you never know, besides this I can't see anything sticking unless we get very lucky!

Even if us coasters don't get in on the act hopefully some of you guys in the northern half of our region get a good dumping and post lots of pictures... we won't be jealous, at all...:diablo:

Just been on the mods board and it is in melt down for next weeks easterly, would for you health stay off there

I've tried to stay out of there as usually it's people quoting Matt Hugo 10 times a day telling us what we already know!

But here if it does snow I might go to the hills of Canterbury :)

I've nothing to back this up, other than instinct, but I think you may be pleasantly surprised.

I'd also completely back the previous post in that  I've been amazed in the past to see snow suddenly start settling on wet surfaces as soon as other conditions become favourable.

I have done so in the past, we both have I've had some success.

Might produce a shoddy looking graphic since it's the best stab of proper snowfall since 2013. I note a MetO graphic goes for the risk albeit a low risk of 10-15cm for lowland areas.
