For what it's worth, I would advise all but essential travel into the MOD thread over the next 48 hours! Only pass through the MOD thread for expectations of the weather following the upcoming cold spell, as everyone in there will be very keen to tell you how much it won't snow anywhere other than their location.

Reminds of 2013 when Devon and Cornwall were on near lock down for a red alert snow storm, for it to only go to the channel islands who got a foot of snow...and in March! :wallbash:

Thankfully I've got through therapy now....

Thank's for reminding me.:nonono:

Remember that day well, saw a few bits of dust for about 5 mins and then nothing, such a waste:wallbash:

Here's hoping this time, thing's might be different although i ain't telling anyone, anything yet.

Appears to still bring snow to most of Cornwall, south Devon and Dorset.

Wow that would be amazing!

You just know it is going to happen... 2 days before I return home :sorry: Can you please just delay it until the 22nd.

Now I know this is not the MO thread but this chart is a good chart and one we should all get some snow from. Sadly its over a week away but with NK on his hols you never know!

It would probably bring some wintry showers to the South coast, but the flow quickly turns to the South and the cold air gets cut off, resulting in a rapid change  to heavy rain- if it were to verify exactly like that.

Beaten to it by a few seconds.

States low risk but just seeing that makes things more interesting.

I've said above - someone WILL see snow from this, but it's unlikely to be much and probably won't be disruptive... Just hope its me!

If it is heavy and slow moving anything could happen... it says low probability but high impact,,

Good luck to everyone in our region thread, I highly doubt I will see snow here, but I still think everyone in our region deserves some after a 4 year wait! :-)

Probably sensible not to get carried away.

Version I read says Mullenders hill is a safe bet

Must be a nightmare for forecasters though with these features a little bit north or a little bit south as all the ramifications we know of. Still, the MO app has me for 4 hours of sleet, Princetown 6 hours of heavy snow. So much to play for!!!

Exactly... If this 'rain' was bumping into well established cold air (like what will be in place next week ), we'd be laughing; but that isn't the case for this Thursday.

Still, we're getting there.

Yep - this is the uncertainty that the lovely Carol hinted a this morning. I do still find it fascinating that we are really close to this event but honestly don't know what the outcome will be. Makes me laugh when people comment on fine detail of D10 charts...

Probably is a safe bet lol, if the precipitation makes  it that far north then I reckon sleet/snow will fall up there.
