And settle. Settling is important. None of this melting on impact. Not that I'm fussy at all

Would you like it to hang around as well?

Wow, the MAD thread has really lost it tonight, in one page I've read of channel lows, biting easterlies, heavy southern UK snowfall, and warm SWesterlies. You pays yer money and waits 10days (ad infinitum)...

Getting nippy out there tonight, clearing skies, Venus & Mars beaming through from the dark heavens.. currently 5.1°C

Has been a strange evening at one point the mo app had sleet at 6pm for the ultimate snow shielded city of Plymouth. This was obviously a typo as order has been restored and rain is back. Note if Plymouth is getting snow we're all getting snow.

Let's hope for a few upgrades in the coming days!  We have been starved of snow for far to long!

i think for us on the south coast it will be very cold and possibly the odd flurry! But not expecting too much!

BBC currently offering me cold rain and a Southerly breeze at 3pm on Thursday, then at 6pm snow and a Northerly gusting to 43mph. Looks like a hellish drive home followed by a return to the status quo by 9pm.

This is just not good enough :nonono:

Thursdays little low/wave (hopefully develops into a low)  needs watching !!

A bit of a wild card but this feature is what is getting our phone Apps slightly excited. (I think met office data for apps comes from raw UKMO data)

But as Ian has tweeted much uncertainty, though anyone on the northern boundary, If it does develop enough, could well be in the firing line especially with some elevation.

nice to have it as a potential anyway :)

Great news that lots of locations are picking up a snow signal. No doubt caused by a little low pressure system picked up in the northerly flow. Just worry about little warm sectors. But at least most people have a ticket. Check your lamp posts Thursday night to see who is a winner!

:D Haha! And Man With Beard is the first to mention the M4 Corridor on the MAD thread. Is he banned from coming in here now?

Interesting, the MetO showing 40mph + gusts for here, on Thursday.  I cannot recall a Northwesterly gusting that high, for this part of Dorset.

I did post in the MAD thread but no one replied.. what's the probability that the low/wave goes north (or south for that matter)? Still a lot of water to flow under the bridge yet  :sorry:

No wonder it has 'Express' in their banner. The MetO's matrix suggests a low impact.
