Too early to be looking for those elusive snowflakes, give it another 5years or so..

I wouldn't risk using it in our half-baked snow, it would melt it before it made it to the ground. viannen_56.gif

I was trying to get a pic of the fog with the flashlight on it, doesn't look as good as what the eye can see lol

I'm sure I saw exactly that at Glastonbury 1990. That's uncanny!

Went for a walk from potten park to moors valley today and was quite shocked to see the lakes frozen over. Quite a thick freeze as well. not seen that since 2010

No frost here tonight.

Anyone around who's closer to Salisbury plain? There's been lots of loud bangs and booms all evening, wondering if it's the army playing up on Salisbury. Can't think what else it might be.

That's weird Jethro.. I wonder what it was? Surely Salisbury plain is too far away to hear?

Also weird is that the temperature has dropped in the last hour or two here and is now 0.2c so once again we have a frost on our hands.. that wasn't forecast  :fool:

We do occasionally hear shenanigans up on Salisbury from here, usually though they're accompanied by helicopters and those HUGE round bodied transporter planes. Tonight it's just loud, low, booms. Still happening. Perhaps aliens have landed??

-1.5C this morning. Clear where I am currently but the weather forecaster on the Today programme sounded quite freaked out by the fog on her way into work this morning so be careful everyone!I

In terms of visibility yesterday and today couldn't be any more different. We still have a refreeze over night at home with freezing fog heading south for work cloud cover is thicker so no frost. Some very dense fog patches about go careful folks.

Woken to a thick frost and clear blue sky, no fog around here but heading to the coast in a bit, it may be a different story once we drop down off the hill tops.

It's trying to brighten up here. Still only 1.2C out there, as the fog is lingering.

It was slippy underfoot on the untreated roads earlier.

Possibly fireworks from Longleat or Center Parcs? Definitely nothing on the Plain as we live right next to it lol.

Another frosty morning. Untreated roads diabolical!:bomb: Very pretty looking though. Shaded areas haven't defrosted for days so now looking very pretty. Looking like it's snowed (closest we'll get) on some lawns/shaded spots

..just in range of the NetWx SR model now, not much to write home about on that, but precip charts aren't wholly accurate anyway - I think the MetO's MOGREPS-UK is what you'd need for a better look at precip. :)

I forgot to mention, when that front has finally passed through, there will be a significant windchill associated with these winds - easily minus figures. Brr  mafia.gif
