LOL, what a nice surprise, first falling snow I've seen here for years, didn't settle of course. Bearing in mind I think the last settling snow we had here was in 2010 so I don't expect an awful lot, anything is a bonus.

Ha- what a laugh- glad someone else is able to back me up!! Cheers pal.

Confirm that heavy rain turned to heavy snow in about 30 mins. Heavy snow now in Ynysforgan, Swansea but not sticking. Where did this come from...certainly not part of any forecast I have seen

It was forecast to turn to snow on the mountains. Enough cold air has mixed along with Evaporational cooling coming into place nicely. Still snowing here and blowing in the strong wind

Yes, saw forecast for higher ground but not here! Still snowing here as well but I can see 2m temp creeping up slightly in last 10mins so its probably going to turn to sleet and then rain again soon. Nice surprise though

Storm, what storm ? We've had nothing here in  Newport . How can the met office get it so wrong ? I could give a better forecast by looking out of the window !

South Wales has had gusts of 40-50mph, exactly as forecast.

"Gales are expected to affect some southern parts of England and Wales during today; inland locations are likely to see a relatively short period of 40-50 mph gusts"

I've given the Met Office some criticism, but comments like this annoy me. They've called it right.

By Wednesday the easterly flow will be in place,Thursday and towards the weekend snow flurries across Wales especially east Wales .we then need to see if a LP can attack Wales from the SWest no sign of any mild spell for at least ten days ,expect a omega block to set up ,which means no sign of a mild weatherl until March.
