Keeps alternating here too... Only getting flakes when the precipitation intensifies. Still better than just rain all day.

In Caerphilly it's nice gentle snow.  Hubby's just taken the car down towards the main road in case it keeps snowing all day.

I thought we had a yellow warning for wind?  The snow is showing no signs of wind.

I'm sure it'll pick up its just a bit too warm.

It's settled here a bit though from earliers heavy snowfall, covering on roofs/grass/cars

Hey guys. Would anyone near Llangollen be able to tell me how much snow is around there? Thinking of taking baby to see his first snow and want some good depth to it!

thanks :)

Andy whats Pontypridd like. We are driving from Llanharan up north to catch some snow

outside here - good few inches and still snowing quite heavily at times - you won't have to drive to far, would stay away from heads of the valleys road - reports of a foot of snow and more widely

if you look at xcweather - all the wind is below the low in the south/south west - 70mph gusts in places - but in wales we are under gentler north easterlies bringing the colder air back into us - it was a yellow warning as they didn't know the most northerly extent at which the low would cross wales - as it is I think the windier weather has just strimmed the south coast of wales and is now leaving

The wind was mainly restricted through the Bristol Channel, Porthcawl had a gust of 66mph between 8-9am when temperatures briefly hit 9C but the winds moved through very quick and so the cold air and snow returned quickly too.

I'm in work in pencoed been pouring with rain all night and this am, dry now. Apparently it's ok as far as Ogmore vale but quite bad in Nantymoel. Very bad up can by bwlch nothing moving vehicle wise. I'm to leave work at 1. Any ideas if this is going to start again? Turn to rain, back to show? I just need to leave work ha ha but don't fancy being stuck in car either.

I'm a little shocked how sporadic accumulations are. Been for a drive to blackwood via Risca and back through Ystrad/ Caerphilly/ Bedwas/ Machen.

Places with more elevation than me have had virtually nothing- Trethomas, Bedwas, not much in Caerphilly.

The only reason I can think of is there are some hills directly to the west of Bassaleg. Otherwise not sure how we've done as well as we have? Don't think I've ever seen us get anything from a marginal event in my memory!

Blackwood looked stunning by the way!
