The suns come out here, not what i wanted to see ? hopefully won't last long before the darker skies with the snow returns!

I decided to avoid going in as I won't get home. You're right with this call for blizzards mate, fair play.

Dry patch nightmares starting to come true.

Its one of those occasions where you can look on in awe to the line of thick cloud in the distance and know that area is getting a pasting whilst nothing where you stand .

Suppose Swansea is still paying back for that NNW event that dumped a good 4 inches in a very specific snow streamer locale - 2009 was it?

We must have had that with an extortionate interest rate if still paying for it now .

Ah well early days atm ....???

you can have some of mine if you don't get enough - oooooooooooooooh matron lol

Well I'm in a quandary here. Everything's settled in Bassaleg and the side roads don't look fun already. Main boss has said stay at home, while another says 'that's nothing' and he'll check the roads on his way in and let me know.

Do I go in for an hour or so?

nope - your life - risk to life - your safety - stay in doors

The one thing im glad about is that Cardiff and Newport are going to see some good amount of snow, us in the valleys have our fair share of it but they normally miss out in the fun and games. Lets hope Swansea gets in on the action even after they beat my team:D

Please further west do not worry. It is coming this afternoon and evening. Look at GFS.

We are just getting very lucky here that we have this heavy precip already. Complete covering in Cardiff now and getting heavier by the minute.

This is turning into a potential historic blizzard for the Cardiff area and south east. Still relatively light here compared to later though. Attached a video of walking in Cathays

Can someone explain to my why met office warning sometimes mention a county but when you look at the weather for actual towns it doesn't show the warning. Today for instance Blaenau Gwent is under the red warning but when I look at the weather for Tredegar, ebbw vale, Brynmawr, abertillery etc (basically every town in Blaenau Gwent) it still shows Amber. I've noticed this previously with warnings.

Guess no one knows lol! The red is defo for Tredegar as I had the met office alert from the app. I've tweeted Derek B and met office. Could be dodgy if people are just looking at the weather detail and seeing Amber and not red (Amber is bad enough mind).

Cars struggling up the hill now and wheel skidding! Why on earth are people still travelling - FOOLS

why indeed - because someone called the beeb/met office/meteo group didn't warn them soon enough

The Met office forecast for Port Talbot still hasn't updated for me since 3am. That's the one I usually go by but don't know how much to believe net weather and BBC.
