Not too bad a day yesterday after all - mostly cloudy with only a little watery sunshine at times but it remained dry all day.  The easterly wind was the worst factor being strong and gusty at times and keeping the 'feels like' temperature very low.  It's a very grey start this morning with a strong SSE wind but still dry for the time being.  Rain is expected here later and overnight but I'm looking forward to the warm-up we're promised for the end of the week.....  even Fishguard got a mention on BBC 'Weather for the Week Ahead' last night!

A very dull, wet start to the day here but markedly quieter than yesterday - the wind has dropped and is now barely noticeable - almost a dead calm in fact.   In the last hour I think the sky has brightened a little and I am hoping we might see some sunshine later this afternoon.  After that, the only way is up for at least a few days until Sunday when rain looks likely to arrive from the west. Still time for this to change so perhaps there will be an improvement in the medium term forecast.....fingers crossed!

Well, it's 6:00pm and the veil of cloud still hasn't cleared this part of the world yet - no sun for us today after all.  It's very hazy, so maybe there is a lot of moisture in air which needs burning off?  I just hope this isn't going to hang around the west coast while the rest of the country gets a lovely sunny day tomorrow....

You can't knock this weather specially after what went before.  A lovely couple of days of warm Spring sunshine, light winds and no rain.  With the weekend set in the same mould we can hope for a continuation into May.....  Not sure we'll get it, though.

Utterly glorious day yesterday, and bodes equally well for today.  Current garden activity on hold as we tiptoe round, because Mr and Mrs robin are hatching eggs near the veg beds and team blue tit likewise by the shed.

After a wonderful spell of summery weather over Easter, conditions finally changed yesterday (although we did get some rain Tuesday night here as well).  The rain set in for most of the afternoon and the temperatures have been knocked back accordingly.  This morning we had a grey dawn and steady rain but it's eased up now.  Showers or perhaps more persistent rain due later and it seems set to be cooler and wetter for a few days now.  However, the ground has been grateful for a soaking - and you don't hear that said very often in these parts!

Potentially damaging gusts if these charts are right - time to put away the garden chairs then.  Oh, and don't park under a tree tonight....

It's gusting fairly hard here, and pretty cold with it. Not a great deal of rain yet, although I wouldn't be surprised to see 10-12mm by dawn.

Am regretting washing and putting away the winter coats last weekend, after a walk along the coast path in blazing sunshine. I should know better...

Well, that wasn't a bad guess- 12.1mm. Wind has picked up a notch or two, as have the gusts. There was an almighty crack a couple of minutes ago as a tree came down a hundred yards away.

Over the tops on the way to Oswestry this morning.  And now it’s glorious sunshine!

Meanwhile up here it looks and feels like a day in February.

Cloudy with light rain and drizzle but cold.

Temperature at an epic 8c with a NE wind.

All birds and fledglings flown, swifts, swallows and martins are here, lapwing and curlew calling up in the hills, quite a few cuckoos too.  Seen my first hornet of the year, blimey it’s huuuge!

Veg beds looking good at the moment, peas and pole beans in, kale coming up, first set of onions and leeks and garlic doing well, spinach and chard good, parsnips no sign of and need to sew raddichio this weekend, as well as some borlotti beans.

We had some very good weather here for a while in mid-May - warm and sunny with light winds - perfect for Spring in fact.  Things have gone downhill in the last few days with low cloud / mist, rain or drizzle at times, and windy too.  Temperatures have taken a bashing and I'm back to wearing warm clothes again!  I hope this is temporary and the summer finds its way back soon because we get enough of the current conditions in Autumn and Winter, thank you.

Couldn't agree more.   We have 100% overcast with light rain this morning and it's quite cool (by that I mean 'chilly', not 'trendy'....).  It's annoying to hear weather forecasters banging on about high temperatures expected this weekend because it's only likely to be felt in London and the south-east - most of the rest of the country are unlikely to benefit and many will see cloudy conditions with very little sunshine.  Grrr!

Until this blinkin wind.  Grrrrr.  Broad beans corralled, peas all over the shop.  Alliums a bit bent, battered  and bruised.  Still on the bright side no black fly, yet......

No heatwave for this location today - 100% low overcast, poor visibility, and the likelihood of drizzle in the next hour.  Hopefully the clouds might break a bit later but for those waking up to blue skies and warmth, count your blessings and spare a thought for the far west.....

A very blustery day yesterday with plenty of cloud - very April like in fact.  I don't see any sign of a shift to real summery conditions anytime soon - the unsettled spell looks like continuing until after next weekend with the sun only appearing occasionally between periods of wind and rain for the rest of the week.  Early this morning we had a quiet and sunny start but it's clouding over quickly now and the breeze is getting up again.  At least it should stay dry today before we get a very wet day tomorrow.  I am hoping that June will not prove to be a complete washout this year but we can always look forward to July.....
