Ding ding... Well Round one goes to the 'teeny tiny' white stuff that fell from the sky and settled on the cars and grass...

Upper atmosphere is colder than I thought !

Ok the 'pfhutt' flakes are larger and now starting to settle on the roads and pavements as well as the cars and grass....

Still not snow though as they are noisy on the conservatory roof!

I'm sure I'm not alone here, but there is a real depressing anti-climax after a snow event. Especially if there isn't another one in the foreseeable future!

Low of -3.0C overnight, currently 4.4C according to the new station, still some snow on the grass and patches of shaded ground/roofs but mostly melted away from that. Beautiful clear sunny day here though cold in any breeze. Love these winter days.

It literally is the calm after the storm!

Is there anything else brewing? Or is it looking forward to spring time?

not immediately - our snow will be washed away overnight - there are rumblings that something maybe happening with the ecm model after friday - more cold potential - nothing that the actual model output for now is showing - right now we have to wait

Rain slowly washing away the last of remaining snow on north facing roofs and gardens, temp 5.5C, snow has stayed around for much longer than I anticipated! I'll be happy now if that's all we get as it's lasted a few days on the ground!

Yup everything washed away but it was nice while it lasted after all the stress when it took so long to arrive last Thursday

Nothing in the foreseeable but its still early Feb we've got a good 6 weeks I would guess at the moment

What a difference a day makes.. well into the minus figures yesterday morning, reached a balmy 8 degrees here today (according to BBC weather!) .  Took the dogs up onto the mountain after work, and it was glorious!  The light was incredible, still a few pockets of snow in sheltered places, and an almost spring like feel to the air.. the sunset was breathtaking too..  took a few pictures to record a beautiful winter's day in Wales.

some snow over night on the ultra high res 12z

There was a wintry mix above 200m in North Wales this morning, definitely something whiter on the mountains above a guesstimate of 350-400m.

So, are we due for another cold snap at the end of Feb continuing to  beginning of March again ? There seems to  be a familiar  pattern to last year's weather format here on the farm.

Dont go in the mad thread. They are either throwing their towels in or lying on them thinking summers arrived. Too busy moaning to notice its minus 1 outside. Winters not done yet. Ok, it may take a week or two but it's not done
