The met office for Port Talbot says nothing, BBC pretty much has light snow until 5am. Plus the radar still has a huge patch of snow over us. I'm a little confused.

I've been using this for the past hour or (https://www.rain-alarm.com/) Seems that when under blue there was very little snow around, but the green seems to be delivering, so hopefully a few green bits pop up over Port Talbot! Seems like it's waxing and waning though the heavier pulses.

Constant light snow here, bit outside of the moderate snow but the light snow might add a cm or 2 as it can be seen to slowly building up. Very good night indeed!

It certainly made up for it in the end! been moderately snowing here for the past few hours with plenty more to come according to the radar.

I can see another 3 or 4 hours of good hours of snow.

I'm generally quite chilled and accepting about low chances of snow living in a low lying coastal area, but I'll admit I got pretty down hearted a couple of hours ago. Lets hope it keeps ticking over through the night.

I know its not the massive amount they said we could have  early this week but people n on the coast seems to have enjoyed some snow  as well so hopefully most people got to enjoy it tonight.

The front has totally stalled but not degrading quickly either. Should be hours of moderate snow left in this for many.

We’ve only been under blue and had a good 4cm in places now closer to 2cm on hard surfaces...don’t loose hope

Coming down beautifully now in Rhayader,  temp now below freezing and accumulating nicely.  Got a good feeling about this now, especially as the blob in the Irish Sea has linked in with the main front coming in from the east, has given the precipitation some extra energy. All much later than forecast, but getting there in the end!

Plenty of life in this system yet! Several hours of light to moderate snow I think. It's not going to be a foot deep for us but still a decent event in my opinion.

Well.... Yesterday mornings model runs were epic and thing seem to have lost intensity since then for Wales.

11 am today the Met had my location down for 3 hours of heavy snow and then 3 or 4 hours of light to moderate, so far weve had 10 minutes of heavy snow and some snizzle......

This afternoons 12z runs:

Big fail there over Wales so far.... lets see what they show for 10pm:

Arpege 10 pm image.thumb.png.f8ee8dd486b511d684f70703edf52ad0.png

Lets see how it goes but all are from todays 12z so.............. Arpege seems closest

ignore bottom 2 images cant delete

OK so its now just gone 10 pm and lets see where we are compared to forecast.....see charts above for 10 pm forecast.

Latest Radar 21.55 image.thumb.png.b71d10ba970b913068c55996350c952e.png

models for 1.00 am

18z gfs 1.00 am      image.thumb.png.00b472caee4442f0ddef7aa0b34066ab.png

12z gfsp    1.00 am image.thumb.png.83f93041bd831961b8b6bcb136f7d2b8.png

12z Arpege 1.00 am   image.thumb.png.2bdd6282e9518693524c6fde01269aa0.png

18z Hirlam 1.00 am    image.thumb.png.dcf0e09fac1de4b2d94c1ea3145a5114.png

Not looking such a fail after all.. just less intense than we were hoping for.

Front is filling in south west areas and i can con firm it is snowing here but light.

some legs in it... Notice the 18z runs show it a bit more intense at 1.00 am than the 12z with newer data.

Couldnt use all 18z as haven't all updated yet

Heaviest snow of the night now, after the amber warning expired lol.

U win and u  get the yellow snow   Remember they only gave a amber warning because it was rush hour, it didn't mean the heaviest snow.
