Yep, l looking out over a wide area at 250m height, it's dry as far as the eye can see...weird

Anaprop! Google it it’s when weather radars are affected by the climate and produce ‘ghost’ precipitation clouds by error

I was wondering why the radar was showing pink here for the last hour yet it was dry outside.  Didn't think about evaporation

Yes, it's nothing to worry about. Cold air and moisture don't mix well: not only does it evaporate but it also causes frontal systems to weaken and eventually decay, as we'll see tomorrow. It's also why, thanks to climate change, a warmer future is likely to be a wetter one, especially in winter, but that's for another time!

Looks like the heavier stuff that definitely isn't a radar echo is making quite a push now from South to North. Hopefully turns to snow out west quickly. Personally happy for it to hold out until 5 onwards over the south east!

Could increase snow amounts for us, watch the radar to see if it begins to wrap and form.

I think I can see a slight wrapping over the far SW of England, it's not much, but it is there.

Im in Cardiff city centre and not a single flake as yet lol

cardiff is still under the "i'm there but i'm not really" output on radar - gonna have to wait a tad longer for the real stuff to arrive

For anyone concerned it's now too warm for snow in Wales, here's Cornwall at this very minute with police issuing "do not travel" advisories:

It's even snowing in Padstow, on the Cornish coast.

Oh dear.   This is not looking good.  The back edge of the system is approaching fast and the snow hasn't even started to settle!  Everything is wet and the snow is easing off (despite all my efforts to pretend otherwise!).   Unless this system starts to pivot in a serious way to bring the heavier stuff in my direction, it's all going to be over here by 5:00pm.   For the south east and borders there is plenty on the way, though...
