Hello everyone, I'm de-lurking for this one.

I missed last March's snow as I was on hols in Vietnam, but I'm avidly watching this thread for this one.

I've put my leave card on my line manager's desk for Friday and worked an extra hour today so I can go home earlier tomorrow.

I'll be reporting from Caerphilly (and maybe Pontypridd town centre as I work there now)

Hi Jo , get up in those cranes in ponty , the snow will be better up there

Brilliant!

By midday we shall see how intense these fronts are on the satellite images for example a nice line of green and yellows running along the front rather than blue we have a good idea on depths of snow..

Whilst meto have finally given me 9hours of pure snow and removed any sleet or rain from their forecast from my area - don't think anyone quite knows where this snow line will end up!

I think it'll start as light sleet then turn to heavy snow.

Unfortunately because the time of day its coming in (around the warmest part with temps of 2-4C it is likely to be sleet for lower areas before temps drop back and it turns to snow, just means it will take longer to stick and won't accumulate quite as much if that turns out to be the case! Either way, we should see snow pretty much everywhere except may the immediate coastline?

I thought it wasn't arriving until darkness? Hopefully it gets delayed.

Depends on whether its further north/south than actual predictions, but I believe its currently expected around 2pm onwards?

Down to just under -1c now in Cardiff already. These cold nights the past few days will definitely have lowered the ground temps quite a bit and a good temp for tomorrow now.

even if it is rain initially, any snow should accumulate fairly quickly if/when it falls.

Onto the 18z models next...

Arrival of precip different on every model Jay. But somewhere between 2 and 4pm looks likely.

You guys in the south east could get five or six hours of disruptive frontal snow tomorrow if the models are even close to getting this right, especially with a little bit of elevation away from the coast:

Provided we get enough here in the Preselis to leave footprints and it hangs around long enough to get some pics on Friday, I'll be happy!
