Who cares about what happens over the next couple of days when the real prize is in sight on the ECW, if it's right that could be real winter weather.

Yes some fun Thursday with a streamer setting up over over west Wales ,stalling front over Wales Friday and again Monday with sleet and snow around. The stalling front Tuesday,as the main bad boy return THE BEAST FROM THE EAST!!!

I never like those charts, I'm always just on the border between snow and rain or a bit far south and near the coast and in the rain  one day I'll be in the sweet spot for snow!

not likely to be borderline anywhere and at any altitude if the ecm easterly comes off - just cast your mind back to last years easterly beginning of march - altitude doesn't come into it once the continental feed starts digging in - Cardiff was awash with snow if you remember, it crippled the cowbridge area too if I remember, so you should've had a fair amount too Deepsnow I would have thought!!!

Doesn't look that good for south wales if I'm honest, does it take elevation into account?

Now that was a perfect year for all in Wales the BFTE did nothing for us here in and around the western side of the beacons foehn affect in full swing....that’s why this talk of easterlies has me less than excited...much rather a potent Nwstly!

gfs and gfsp on board - for the main course - snow etc starting Monday night next week

As expected Andy strat warming now taking effect ,the models are now smelling the roses ,,could well see snow  any were across Wales before  Monday Andy, what is interesting about the upcoming cold spell the air is unstable air flow, so any were you can get a really good covering Monday into Tuesday looks very promising.

We’ve already had quite a few heavy sleet showers here...earlier than expected!
