showing a small clear patch over Maesteg on v7, but still snowing lightly. can see patches of blue sky. lying snow SEEMS to be thawing slightly too. wet patches now visible.

however this plays out now, i'm happy

two mini 82 type events, in two weeks? nice. thought i'd never see drifting snow ever again.

I just looked at radar, and from metro and rain today radar( free ones) snow passing by Newport Cardiff Bridgend etc within an hour. I myself hope so as work later and need to get car out. Are these radars correct?

full on blizzard here in Maesteg, but we're right on the edge of the precipitation according to v7

Oh no my mam's literally just left Porthcawl to go and visit her brother in Maesteg, she said the snow isn't anything like what we had 2 weeks ago

A good covering here, but the roads are totally clear.

The parents are down in Cheddar for the weekend though, so see if you can guess which photo is Cheddar and which is Newport! ?

Our 1cm of Snow thawed very quick here, mostly just whats on the grass left. Good old snow shield in full effect! One day we will get a good covering again im sure ?

Atleast we've had a few coverings late winter/spring, so happy with that!

Unlikely now to be anything in Swansea (at least giving decent depth), with limited covering overnight now almost fully melted. Bravo to ARPEGE & EURO4 for its correct predictions. Thhe band is weakening already so HIRLAM looks somewhat wrong.

Snowing hard here but also melting. Car was white but roof now melting. Must be dew points and the fact the ground had not had 2-3 days of sustained below freezing temps

it's March, and we've had two events making us temporarily look like Siberia, even if it is only for a couple of hours. the sun is getting stronger and stronger day by day, so a thaw is inevitable. it's even having an effect through the clouds here.

we may even have ANOTHER event looking at the charts, in the next  couple of weeks, so yeah, this year could well be looked upon with the same nostalgia as 82 and 78, if not having the same severity as those events

see you when the next event hits.

Some lush sunshine across Cornwall, if it moves northwards soon, we could end up with a decent enough afternoon for the rest of our long weekend break in Tenby even if it is cold

Good luck. You might do ok with sun later I hope. We're off there tomorrow for a day and night. Looks ok.

About 1-2cm of snow overnight, this cleared quickly on paths. At 9am there was full coverage on the grass, but this has since thawed quite quickly from underneath. About 30% left.

Currently snowing lightly but not likely to amount to anything.

Interesting though to see that South Gower had decent snow overnight.

Still -1c in Cardiff, almost midday.

Snow petering out. Good covering though.

Unfortunately ground temp above freezing due to the mild days prior to this cold snap so melting occurring from underneath rather than a thaw from air temperature.

Should remain in most places and freeze overnight. Roads and pavements melted now.
