snowing here now - just started

Nice one. Don't you think I'll see more snow than where I live in pentwyn if there's a 30m difference? Think you'll cop the 20-25cm today and tonight.

nope - Siberian easterly will level out the temps across the board - as the temps will get so low - so like last time Cardiff and the valleys got equally bad

We'll all have to be up early tomorrow morning for the heavy snow by the looks.

Snowing in Brynmawr again.  Worried as going to Anfield today to watch the game.  Not due to get home till early hours.  It's white already.

Probably won't get home mate. Especially where you live I expect you'll hit over 20cm.

Nice to see you on here for this event mate, can't believe the grief you were given about Derek lol. Let's just say he's not the best along with behnaz and sue Charles who are all on par and equally as bad.

you ever wondered why he never made it to the national forecasting team for Britain rather than stay as a local forecaster for Wales - strikes me it's either a personal decision to stay in Wales and work here - or he's never been considered for promotion in that way because of the way he does his forecasts - being in the music industry and performance - I do find his forecasts wooden and the way he communicates to tv land a bit staid - meaning that his staid non emotional approach to his forecasting is not good - he doesn't get his message across properly by being wooden - we human beings don't just communicate with our mouths we communicate with our body language too

beltin it down here with snow - the blizzard has kicked in lol:cold:

that rain in Cardiff will switch to snow very shortly - the temps are ratchiting down quickly from north east to the south west

here's the other extreme from derek - possibly over performed - but you get the general idea - more body language and emotion helps to get the message across clearer - rather than Derek's accountancy approach to the weather - I think that's what has held him back as weel from going national uk wide - maybe he thinks it's better to be a reasonable sized fish in a small pond than a non-entity up in London amongst some very good forecasters who do manage to emotionally deliver there forecasts as well as talking about them -

Convection is the key with channel low moving east to west and a unstable easterly flow we are Looking at 8hrs snow event,,great radar watching coming up as precipitation will increase overland as it approaches Wales .a great snow event coming.

Gets even more interesting met office suggesting the LP pushes north ,reaching S Wales by dawn increasing the snow ,let's see if met office increases the weather warning by midday.
