About 10 inches of level snow here.... and upto 20 feet drifts (record).

Freezing thick fog, thick rime on the trees still below freezing at -0.5c and still drifting what more could you want.

4am this morning we had a few extra inches, and total road coverage. That had gone by the time I got up at 7. Garden pretty much green again now. A very quick thaw indeed.

The drifts will take a while to go but the main stuff will all be gone by Monday in many areas. Next weekend looks fairly unlikely given how relatively close we are in the models.

I don't think we are quite out of the woods just yet, an area of rain is turning to snow over south wales currently, this will push up into mid wales this afternoon.

Will be interesting to see if temps lower later and the beast from the east gives one last hurrah.

I'm in Newport, according to netweather radar it's supposed to be raining but there's nothing coming from the sky .it's currently 2.8 degree with a slight thaw going on .can't get out of my street as we have 3ft drifts and the main roads are still impassable apart from main bus routs lower down in the city.

Maybe,  it's not much of a thaw here cabin fever kicking in ! Tesco is closing early at 4pm so staff can get home , snow forecast all day by met office and it will get cold again in an hour or so , watch this space ?!

Temporarily popped out of the shadows to show this :-

Similar direction of travel though this time Swansea is under the heaviest precipitation , however you guessed it , yes it’s rain .

Where is the fohn effect now ?

Whoever this fohn character is they deserve a good kicking .

You just have to laugh at this .

Almost every bit of of the pathetic snowfall has gone now - you wouldn’t have known .

Anyway , back into hibernation and lurking until next winter .

Haha came here to post this as well! Looked out my window and it's lashing down... with rain.

I thought yesterdays repeat foehn effect gap was the kick in the teeth. I was wrong. Today's heavy rain from the same direction is the real kick in the teeth. It's like some kind of sick joke.

And to rub it in........ a tweet half hour ago from DEREK "Now a tropical +5 in Swansea"

Roll on summer!

Roll on summer!

If I see Derek walking along the mumbles this summer I will accidentally nudge him into the bay , then ask him how tropical the water feels .

I think i have developed an irrational hatred of that man now .

I must really slink back into the ether now .

Temps dropping in Cardiff. Back down to 2c. I wonder if the beast will have one last hurrah before real mild air arrives tomorrow.

Snowing at Rosebush in The Preselis this afternoon. Sleet/wet snow Kilgetty just now.

2.5c and raining in Tenby.

Weird up The Preselis: mainly green apart from 5/6ft drifts down every hedge!
