Not impressed with the local mountains taking all the snow away. A decent covering of 1-2 inches on grass but snow on pavements has blown away, still well below zero.

First time I recall foehn effect has been bad for us. However the models were consistent in keeping us in the drier zone in the lee of the mountains.

Doesn't make it any less disappointing though when you look at nearby areas.

The bitter pill here is that these conditions in summer would be great for dry and warm sunshine that usually finds Cardiff but you can bet in summer we will soak up all the moisture that’s on offer!

Andy , you better avoid the Swansea area , gangs of snow starved zombies ?‍♂️ roaming the streets intent on causing chaos and mayhem or maybe that’s just the queue to get into Wetherspoons .

Were not happy and we are going to build that wall .

The Irish rugby football association are going to be made to pay for it .

BBC reporting 51cm lying snow is that true mate? I doubt St athan has that much. Saying that I haven't been out in it today as of yet.

I would say at least a foot of snow here, more in the drifts. Higher end of Barry usually gets better depth than us nearer the sea. Cars were abondoned on the main road to Cardiff Airport last night.

Yeah, it is bitterly cold outside.

My wife's work expected her to walk into today, she tried but it took her 30 mins just to walk 300m. She said it is very icy as well as difficult to walk in the depths of snow.

Anyone going sledging today then? I'll be heading out this afternoon for a walk then sledging got to be done.

Yes. Got 2 plastic sledges here. Going to head out in a bit. It seems lethal in places, there's a really icy crunch to it.

I just think it's too cold to enjoy or is it I'm just getting old?!

I would of been the first out but this time I'm enjoying it from inside! Even had to push the dog out for a pee this morning! The cats won't go out!
