Surely more warnings will be issued today? Snow is really coming down at the moment and the wind is still going. Someone I know just posted this photo on Facebook....this is what us in Tredegar have got up to!

looking at GFS, quite  a few hours more to come today, and I am still wondering if the mild push they are going for later in the weekend will actually transpire, given the charts very poor run up to the event regarding the progress of the milder air. We'll see.I suppose. Happy the power has stayed on right through. any news on any power cuts?

nothing here but there was breaking news on breakfast tv that 5,000 power cuts had happened in the north east I think

unlucky for them. i'm just hoping this freezing rain me and Deep Snow have seen here locally isn't too widespread, otherwise it might be our turn next. won't take much of it to bring power lines down. v7 not saying there's any about though, but perhaps it's cos it's so fine?

Eerie trying to see  out of the back windows this morning, they are completely covered with ice! Opened the window and it even sounded eerie with the wind

just put the kettle on, sit back and enjoy the show, for the rest of the weekend. this isn't weather to be going out in.

Anyone know how to reduce the size of a video? It says the file is too big.

you can do it easily on watsapp. choose the bit you want, send it to someone, then post THAT video

Don't count S Pembs in that- been awesome here.

That’s why I used the word ‘most’ great for pembs! But this cold spell will go down as one of great cold temperatures but frustratingly rubbish snow for this part of the world! Roll on spring warmth so we can kiss goodbye to this shody excuse of a winter.....

p.s hate easterlies always have always will! Bring on the NWstly’s!

:cold:Wish me luck .... going to wake the cows up or dig them out ... hoping the tractor will start ... snow blowing everywhere ❄️

Hi ho ... hi ho ... a milking I must go

Would love to see the scene in your spectacular location but I don't envy you having to go outside this morning..... the wind must be absolutely biting up there.  We had several hours of driving wind and snow yesterday evening and last night  but not really much to show for it today although the fields are white.  I reckon the wind blew all our snow out your way and probably didn't stop till it reached Ireland  lol..

Not impressed with the local mountains taking all the snow away. A decent covering of 1-2 inches on grass but snow on pavements has blown away, still well below zero.

First time I recall foehn effect has been bad for us. However the models were consistent in keeping us in the drier zone in the lee of the mountains.

Doesn't make it any less disappointing though when you look at nearby areas.

COLD WAXES AND WANES on THE GFS & ECM - right through the runs - so the cold ain't completely finished with the UK just yet - however I think the major Siberian cold we've just experienced won't necessarily be back and we will be left with our british cold with our damp snow not powdery snow lol - could last until EASTER

Wow amazing - but for the wrong reasons .

Must eat my bobble hat today because the dry patch has come to pass .

Ok not dry as in nothing ,but not even enough to be able to roll a snowman .

Promised my daughter today we would make a snowman - this is going to be tricky with barely a few handfuls of this powder puff foreign dust .

Bring back proper British full fat sticky wet flakes !!
