Has it damaged snow cover at all?

Will it now fall as snow again do you think?

No I don't think it has.

I think it will fall as snow once these sub zero uppers make there way back south in the next few hours

If anything it looks like it's added to the cover, the footprints nearly filled since late last night so must've had another few inches in the past 5 or 6 hours.

Good grief bit of a before and after if the snow had been bigger flakes this would have been really worrying

Haven't been out but I'd take a guess of around a foot level snow where it hasn't been touched with 3-4ft drifts.

Another 5-10cm coming soon.

There we have it, I think the air has started to cool now after that brief interaction with warmer uppers. Graph below for Cardiff: -2.2C as of 6am

Seeing those pictures are amazing! Its a little disappointing for me to then not even have a level inch covering from this storm ? Maybe be better positioned next time! They are some amazing photos over east though!

Still under amber warning here though the snow has definitely stalled a good bit for the time being

@Jayfromcardiffyou did well. Hands up. My fears of the precip not making it did not come to fruition.

Really happy for those in our capital city to get this depth of powder snow. May not be seen again for 10 years or more.

Brynmawr and Heads of the Valleys was my original sweet spot 2 days ago and that seemed to come to fruition.

Quite excited about the prospect of more today too.

I think what is exceptional is the cold. To have temps between -3 to -5 with gale force winds is quite unprecedented.

Good luck to those that missed out last night!

cracking event so far to be fair. like a mini 1982. lol

not bad considering it's the 2nd day of spring.

more to come too looking at v7. looking outside though, because of the way it has blown the snow into random foot/2foot high tumps, maybe our depot could have opened today, for limited deliveries, but i'm not complaining about the day off. :D

don't fancy being out in that wind.:cold:

Oh and this current freezing rain has given and layer of ice to everything, genuinely dont want to go out in it today and can see it being quite dangerous

Looks amazing  but making me feel even more depressed :sorry: The swansea snow shield was in full operational form and doubt it'll be any different with what comes today. Think I may sleep all day :wallbash:

Omg! I've got up to snowmageddon! The depth and the drifts....absolutely unbelievable.  I've measured at least 16 inches down on my decking but some of the drifts are huuuuuge! Nothing will be moving in this street today! And it's still coming down and more expected. I've lived in this house 20 years and it's the worst I've seen it since i've lived here so you're talking about worst (or best) spell since 1990s. Still not on the 1982 level but we've got today to go yet!
